I detect sarcasm...
Or is it just my protective instincts when my boys are in the picture? :shifty:

No sarcasm at all good man, I admire a dad that can competantly fill many different needs for their children :sunny:

Did you make it start to finish? If so ..... Good job dude!
We should get together and start a "Bear swilling, cigarette smoking, Leather Clad Biker Father's Baking / Cake Decorating Group".
I made one for each of my kids the year I split with their mum, was trying to make a point in my case, "just cause mum aint there doesn't mean you have to miss out on cool cakes".
Sort of back fired though, now they expect one each birthday.

Yep, know what you mean. I have 3 boys still at home and they get a home made cake (yes, no bought stuff here!) for their B'thdays each year. I try to figure out what is important to them at the time and the cake then is made to reflect that. When my oldest was still living at home he was in to chess for a few years, so I decided to make a chessboard with pieces out of chocolate. Spent 6 hours carving out brown and white chocolate pieces that night!
Well done making their cakes. It is something they will remember for rest of their life!

The knife between the eyes is a nice touch! Is it significant in any way?
I haven't stopped at the cakes, unfortunately......
When we moved into our new (once) house, I borrowed a sewing machine off a fellow KBer to make my kids curtins.
I also hollowed out some tim tams once cause my daughter was getting her lunch nicked at school. Filled them with black icing, then sealed them back up with melted chocolate buttons to catch the little bugger out.
Unfortunately, the only one I caught was a prick at my work that nicked my lunch!
Dude, being a dad is the biggest, most honourable thing to be. I'm proud to be one, as obviously you are too, nothing is too big of an ask when it comes to being you're kids idol or role model,,,,,IMHO.
Big ups mate, keep up the good work!

you keep doing what you are doing too!
The knife ended up in Kennys forehead with the comment: "You killed Kenny! You bastard"
And to stop this thread from dropping in to that hole called PD lets take it back to bikes:
I have this plan of making a cake that is a bike, not only has a pic of one on it. Just need to figure out how to sort it.
Been thinking about making all the bits individually: wheels, motor, tank and then somehow connect them with something that can be eaten. Then colour it in with coloured icing sugar... Years ago I did a Teenage Ninja Turtle in same fashion. He was sitting down. But the shell was what kept him together.

Baked bean tins or similar for the wheels
Loaf tin for the rest cut into various lengths when cool.
And then of course lollies for the finer touches ie speedo etc
Made a digger for "Shrek" about 12 yrs ago similar method,,,, looked good

Cheers. What happened was that between my 3 boys and I we decided that the money spent on 3 Bthdays/year should be used on us instead of other families kids. And so we used the money to take trips round NZ. (There still was cakes, but more basic stuff where I did pictures on the cake of whatever was on their mind at that stage etc.) We did the Rotorua thingy where we stayed in a motel and did most of the turisty things. We did 2 ski trips, one to Whakapapa and other to Turoa and some other trips. Now the boys are starting to ask for Bthday parties again, so we will do that this year. There will be a 15, a 13 and a 11yo party so cakes need to be made. And yes, the bike one will be sorted for my youngest ones Brthday in October.
Will update as they happen.
