All this hooharrr about stopping people talking on their cellphones while driving and yet I don't see anything that pertains to stopping the very dangerous practise I witnessed the other day.
Tootling along on the bike thinking to myself how nice it was that it wasn't raining I started to notice the mini in front of me was swerving all over the road and braking and accerlating erratically.
Learner driver I assumed...but as I watched I noticed the occupants and driver were gesticulating wildly - hands flinging about like they were swatting away bees...then I looked closer - they were signing to each other - having a hearing impaired conversation while driving FFS!
Surely deaf drivers 'having a conversation with their deaf back seat passengers' is even more dangerous than cell phone usage - where's the demerit points for this situation eh?!

And I think Vanity mirrors for the drivers side should be illegal, and there should be stops on the rear view mirror to prevent it being turned toward the driver....
Following a lass in a wee white car near Levin in steady open road traffic 100kph +_...she twisted the mirror towards her self and began looking inthe mirror tussling her hair with both hands for quite some time....I backed off some...

I passed a young girl who was riding a scooter in a 100km/h zone.
She was wearing a mini skirt, singlet top and jandals in addition to her helmet.
She was texting at the time.

I had fun today. Smith and Smith Auto Glass guy nearly hit me - was talking on his phone. I manouvered around to his driver's door, then sat on the airhorn next to his open window. Fuck was he pissed off. Abused the fuck out of me he did. I pulled over, rang the 0800 on the side of the van, and laid a formal complaint with their complaint person (who at least sounded concerned)

Good on you for doing that. I had some moron try to merge into me on the harbour bridge while he was yakking on a mobile fone. He sees me at the last second and swerves wildly back into his own lane...... when I get up to his drivers side window we look at each other and hes laughing. What a fucking dickhead !!! playing russian roulette with our lives they are ! they just dont understand that its not a fucking game out there. Its serious ffs.

I think eating/drinking/shaving/applying makeup should be added to the list too.
You want to eat/drink/shave/put on your makeup? Then get better time management.

'having a conversation with their deaf back seat passengers' is even more dangerous than cell phone usage
Especially if they're yelling.
Still, no worse than driving by Braille.

A few days ago I saw the same thing but this was in a 50km area.
She was making a right turn at an inner city intersection while texting !!!!
