READ POSTS 2 & 3 FOR DETAILS
Accommodation for bikers heading to Wellington has been tentatively arranged in a couple of places in Palmerston North on Monday 16th November. We have beds in shared units/cabins that require you to bring a sleeping bag and towel, having maximum heads on pillows these should cost you between $19 and $23 per person for the night. There are 150 of these available. Obviously the more that bunk together the cheaper it gets.
Tent sites are $30 per night for 2 people and are additional to the 150 mentioned above. Most units/cabins have kitchens/bathroom/toilets in them. There is a good communal kitchen/BBQ area too. Looks like a nice place, hopefully I will be able to attach the info in more detail to this post.
Then we have motel type beds, no bedding etc required. I have arranged a block booking cost of $33 per night for these beds. There is a roast meal on offer too for the sum of $10 each, you may have to walk/ride a short distance to get to your meal if you are not staying in the hotel providing it. There are 200 beds available at this price, it also invloves sharing and will be more expensive individually if you chose not to share.
At this stage I am really looking to see who needs a bed, I may have to do some more talking if you guys fill the beds I have already, no doubt the prices will be about the same. Also happy to find couple only type units too.
Ok, so the poll is up. It is a public poll, and obviously only allows for you to be counted. If you have a partner/husband/wife/child you are planning to pillion or know is attending that wants/needs a bed can you please post in here as well.

Paekakariki Holiday Park
04-292-8292
Has a lodge that sleeps 30 people, costs $350 for the night, but if you sleep 30 it is only $12 per person. They also have cabins available that will sleep 170 people in various combinations ranging in price from $20 to $25 per person. Once again the more you share, the more you save. You need to bring sleeping bags and towels. Plenty of tent sites available too.
Here is a link to where it is and directions to get to the meeting point near the NZ Police College on Papakowai Road, departure time 11:30am.

Here you will have to bring sleeping bag and towel, probably a plate, mug etc if not in unit that provides them. There are approx 165 beds here, prices range between $22 and $ 39 for a night, again same principle applies, the more to a unit the cheaper it gets.
Heaps of tent sites available too.
Here is a link to where it is and directions to get to Avalon Park. The main Bikeoi into Wellington is leaving the Duck Pond at 11:30 am. I will amend this link if I have the location too far off the mark, but I think I am close enough.

FEILDING OPTION TOO
Thanks to kevie
I chased up the owner of the Feilding Holiday Park (Colin) and he has agreed to charge only $20 a night per person (sharing the cabins) so I think from a rough count up he can cater for about 60 people. You will have to bring a sleeping bag.
he has rooms and cabins and about 6 spare caravans and also tent sites available for the Monday night, they also have a 17 bed hall that at this point is available.
The rooms and cabins sleep 4 persons. you will need to be willing to share.
The camp has full kitchen and abolution facilities available.
The camp is located at 5 Arnott Street in Feilding

Really should be multichoice. I can handle any of them if necessary. Funding is not such an issue for me as for some (cue poor impoverished old man etc), so I'd go for the motel, just saves having to lug a sleeping bag.
But anythings good by me

Dunno how you edit it. Just add two extra lines : "Any off the above" anbd "anything in a building" (some folk may not be keen on tents". Maybe a third extra line "Is there a soft ditch handy"

I have reserved a couple of posts at the start of this thread to list the other offers that have been received.

quite happy to do a map,but have no actual data to do so.Perhaps a logical choice would be to contact one of the major players in the manawatu tag game.Would have much more local knowldedge than I

I am going to post up all details of what I have organised shortly, I have a couple of posts at the top of this thread reserved. I have beds in Palmerston North/Wellington/Turangi on tap. There are also many KB free beds on offer. I am trying to get these into some sort of format that can be managed? so that some poor bugger does not end up with 10 guests when they can only bed 2.
I am working as fast as I can, what with fundraising today at the Auckland rally and holding down a job, getting my bike back on the road and a tiny bit of life thrown in for good measure, I am a little bit short of hours at the moment. Maybe tomorrow  I will get a few spare hours to get this up here.
Sorry it is taking so long :D
EDIT: I will do maps, contact numbers, bed details etc in my posts

I'm terribly sorry. If you'd rather sleep in a tent or cabin than in a king-size bed with your own shower and unlimited hot water...
Yeah, yeah, yeah. There are many, many KB members that have offered up beds for the travellers, their names are being collated into a database as we speak. There has been a thread up here for a while asking for anyone that wants to offer up beds. I just requested it taken off sticky as I have not had an offer in a week.
The accommodation that is listed in that thread is for the budget focussed biker, not everyone can afford to take time off work and pay for motels for a couple of nights. I have assumed those with the means will actually find their own motels. Mind you I am happy to source one for them if they can't.

Hiya
I have 3 double beds, futon and three decent sized couches as well as a double mattress. Numbers that can fit in will depend on those willing to share . Ideal if you can bring a sleeping bag.
10K from centre of Palmie, 1k of gravel and you need to like dogs.
Big double garage and a carport so loads of undercover parking for bikes.
Couple of BBQ's we can fire up for nosh if we don't go into town. Going to WIMA the weekend before but it is local so beds available sunday- tuesday.
PM me if I can help.

What a good idea. Though the travellers will probably want to head home or at least part the way if they have come from really far away.
Wellington could probably do with a bit of a knees up on a Tuesday

May I be so bold as to suggest Mac's Bar, on the waterfront down by Te Papa. There is a ton of room behind that for motorcycle parking and the staff are incredibly obliging and hospitable. If it's a nice night (well, it is Wellington) there's plenty of room outside.

Kevin Burton <kevienz54@hotmail.com>
Hi there Howard :) Long time no see.
I understand you guys along with BRONZ are doing some of the
organizing/support for the BIKEOI on the 16-17th.
I have spoken to The Feilding Holiday Park owner (Colin) and have encouraged
him to offer a discount for the riders in the BIKEOI on the night of 16th
November (and im sure he will also offer that for any that wish to stay over
the extra night on their return from Wellington).
He has agreed to offer cabins etc at $20 a head for that night. The riders
will need to be willing to share the units tho and bring their own bedding
(eg: sleeping bag (and pillow if required))
The facility has about 6 caravans available at present and several cabins
that sleep 4 persons, a few rooms that sleep 5 (1 double bed and 3
single... as 2 bunk beds) and also a 'bunkhouse type building' that has 17
beds.
A rough count I think he can cater for around 70 people.
The camp has a full kitchen and abolution block. And also a large area for
tenting if any wish (didnt get a price for them)
If you wish to contact him to discuss the offer Colins phone number is
06-3235623
For anyone that wishes to take up his offer the booking phone number is the
same as above,06-3235623 and the address of the camp is 5 Arnott Street,
Feilding.

Costa del MASH (aka Hawkeye's place) can take 2-5.
Location Tawa.
1 bed (possibility of double). Plus couch, and floor space.
I can even supply air beds and sleeping bags if required.
I also have a spare road legal bike that could be used by a suitably qualified rider (Honda CB500S).
Space for one bike in the garage (possibly 2 if I feel generous by moving the CB out. Other bikes can be put around the back of the house out of sight or boxed in by the cages on the drive. (very quiet street) Tarps available for covers.
Beer, BBQ and next to main train line to Welly if you feel like heading to the Welly pubs for the night. Ideal location as both meeting points are within 20 mins ride or 15 mins to Parliament.
For those out of towners that may want to go try out our playground on the Takas while you here, I am always up for a ride and happy to play tour guide. :innocent:
NB: Dog (Spanial) in the house but she is timid and a total softy so unless you have an allegy she will be no problem.
If anyone is interested in making it a longer week-end and spending some time in the Welly region, your quite welcome to come earlier ie Sat

The thanks are genuine for the work you've done, and the ignore was meant as just that, no need to get back to me in response to my message.
I'll say no more just in case.....

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but....
I cannot find any details on where people are meeting, what time etc. We plan to get as far south as possible on Monday night, then carry on on Tuesday before coming home. Any details appreciated.
Thanks.

It is not wonderfully clear, but if you open the attachment in a new window you can zoom in a bit, this has all the ride routes, departure times and meeting points on it.

Page 2 of the flyer states that there is a gathering at Paraparaumu boat club on the Tuesday.
Anyone know what kind of time?

Hi, I am now the Kapiti Coordinator.
Venue has changed from the Paraparaumu Boat club to the underpass at McKays crossing at the end of the Raumati straits.
Heading South on H/W 1, take the turnoff at the flyover to QE2 Park.
Heaps of parking underneath.
I will be there at 0930. Hope to have L plate riders and scooters set off at 0945 and the main riders at 1000. This will then have us all together at the plimmerton roundabout where it is 50km to Papakowhai.

Wingrider, is it possible for someone to put up a prominent notice on Monday morning at the Paraparaumu Boat Club indicating this new meeting spot? Some people may not check KB, and go according to the info on the BRONZ flyer.

We have 2 spare double beds in separate rooms for anyone wishing to spend Monday night in Whitby in our home, to join the Bikoi Tuesday.
Couples would be preferable.
Call me on 021 747400 if interested.

hey, just wondering, those of us coming down, will we need to actually book accommodation, or will we be able to just go "i need a floor, anywhere is fine" and someone can point us in the right direction???

I can offer some accommodation - At least one, possibly two doubles; and a couch that turns into a sofa in Breaker Bay (wrong end of Wellington but nice). Only one bike space in shed, happy to turn it over if someone shows up with something delicate looking :) PM me to get more details.
The spreadsheet (http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Am1jIU8w14g_dEg5YWVTOENLUm9ZTDhQbUJSV3lSb Xc&hl=en) seems read only to me so I can't update it.
Sorry for the lateness of my post. I thought I had already put my hand up but I think I got lost in the wash.
