The Nield boys got scared of BT & are running their own race this weekend :).

Yeah right, but they are running a Cross Country on the Saturday & a Trail Ride on the Sunday, should be damn good riding.

Ugh, why is everything overlapping GNCC!

Ugh, why is everything overlapping GNCC!

Beats the heck out of me, seems to me instead of infighting, there are people in MNZ who should be working with the organisers to give us a race calendar that is spread out, instead of everyone overlapping.

I'd heard the GNCC was an overlap, but didn't realise the BelRay overlapped as well, might have to have a word to the organisers about that tomorrow :).

it comes down to so many events being run,
Greg Power runs outside MNZ and does pretty much his own thing,
the Bel-Ray has started on this weekend for as long as i can remember,

Ahh ok.

Hopefully the rest of the GNCC/Belray dont overlap on the same weekend.

Mitchell Nield won comfortably, 4 minutes ahead & did 5 laps ( only rider to do 4 ). Had the Husaberg 450 smoking in the sand :).
Damon Nield came in second on the Husky TXC250
Natasha Cairns was damn fast 38 minute lap vs just under 30 avg for Mitchell.
Dunno what happened to Brad he didn't finish a lap, possibly regretting the move to KTM about now :innocent:

It was basically like racing Woodhill Park red tracks, would have been perfect for you :), some real sweet single track stuff in the trees, though laid out so you couldn't relax, the soft sand got to most riders & I ended up with Bars facing one way, tire another & front mudguard a third.

Next time I'll do the maths a bit better, tried for 4 laps, when I would have to gone 4 minutes faster on the 3rd, it was never going to work, still was fun going flat out for a bit anyway, even if running out of energy cost me a few places :).

Next race is on Clements farm on the 14th, so no sand, not alot of trees, but lots of off camber grass corners is my guess, can't imagine the Nields laying out a track that's to easy.

Maybe, certainly you & Luke Urhle would have been in your element.

It's Hikurangi, not Hukerenui . It took me awhile to get the two sorted I must confess, the good news it's alot closer to Whangarei.

Been for a trail ride on Clements Farm, no major hills or forests, but not alot of flat land & it's more peaky than rolling :).

The good news is 2 out of 3 rounds count for the series & last round is double points ( to entice the GNCC/Bel-Ray riders up ).

P.S. They tried for months to get a confirmed Bel-Ray date from the Huntly club & in the end had to pick one.
