I go for weekend rides about once amonth- want to increase this going into summer though - kids other responsibilities during the week. I have amate who goes riding with me occasionally as well- on a GPX 250. Nothing too hairy and not too fast.

We should do a North shore riders group so we can send PM's to members for planned rides coming up.

I live in Belmont and I'd be keen for a ride on any weekends. Week days are too hectic for me.

Oh and don't mind riding with a Nana like myself of course

Hi I'm also a newby rider based on the shore & work odd shift worker hours so am happy to go riding during the week or at ramdom times. Will be at the newby rider nite wednesday to say hello & go for a ride.

I'm gonna have to get my arse in to gear and get out with you peeps, can only do rides on the weekends though, something about having to go to work or some such thing like that.

Will make it along to NASS as well, might be a little late cause of work. (I've been saying that for ages now.)

Anyone got any idea's about where to ride to from the shore, I'd prefer something relaxed as I'm not really a speed demon.

hey GOONR, my father and i usually go up on the motorway through the new tunnel up to dairy flat then go left through some mountains, nice ride and helps with turning and making better lines for yourself, have fun

and SUNNYNOOK FTW!!!!

The roadup through Helensville and past Warkworth is good.

A praticularly nice ride is up to Puhoi for a lunch at the Cheese Farm (turn left at Puhoi turnoff off the main road just after the tunnel, and go 5km past the town.) And then ride north and around to Helensville. Abou 300km round trip. Nice road on the SH16.

Also on a nice day, you can ride to the southern head of Manuakau harbour- good twisties.

and for a quicker ride, go through Kumeu and then on to Coateseville to come out at Albany.
