View Full Version : Bike wanted
Ride it till the red

Just thought I'd put a thread up here incase anyone had or knew of a suitable bike.
Due to a car being written off my younger brother has come into some money this week, luckily my positive influence has got him wanting a van and a bike instead of another little rice rocket! :Punk:
So, he's 16 and about 170cms, 65 odd kilo's and reasonably fit and strong.
Has ridden bikes before and will pick it up again pretty quickly I'd say. On those grounds I'm happy to throw him on almost anything bar those heavy bloody 450's :bleh: I guess a post 2000 good condition 125 would be ideal but I'm open to offers and suggestions, the condition being that his funds are limited. Ideally it would cost him just under 2k but up to 3k is an option for the right bike.
Let the possibilities roll in.......

Off road forums mate, wouldn't happen on a roadie but it has been known for mx bikes. Cheers
And as stated, have no issue going up to 3k for a better bike

I have an 05 YZ250 in the garage. Can ask the owner if they'll go down to $3k... they were wanting $4.5k in 2007 but it hasn't been moved since then, and they haven't come back to get it.

go up to 2.5k at least i reckon, I managed to get mine (98CR125) for 1600, but is a little shabby plastics wise, and would have spent bout 2.5k anyway after getting it up to spec with top end rebuild tyres etc. When i looked there was a few 125s for between 2.3k and 3k, problt wont get four stroke for that money though.

I'd say he would be pretty damn good on anything aye. I remember riding with him at Desert Storm last year. He was going hard out. I remember thinking to myself, is that a TTR125 he's riding? Sure enough it was. He had it pinned. Don't think I've seen anyone doing as well as he did on that thing.
I remember him heading off to an expert section. He said 'right i'm off to do this expert part.' He then turned around, pulled a handfull of throttle and looped the bike out all within about a second. We were like, 'expert section you say.. you sure?" hahah was classic. :)
Seems like the sort of guy that would fit a 125 2t for sure.
