There have been several cases in the US of the fork lowers cracking on the new R1.
Please review the attached pics and if you have one of these bikes keep an eye on these areas.

Looks similar to the Ohlins fork that do this when done up to tight , thanks to the incorrect torque setting in a manual for them .

Is there a recall in progress, or is it as above and possibly over tightening when removing a wheel?

I can see it now... mine broke but I didn't over tighten it or EVER do a wheelie on it <_<
FWIW I've known Yamaha to be pretty good when it comes to having to do a recall.

Unless you are talking about the cutches on the MT01 then they just deny there is any problem even if it has been well documented by a number of people, but sorry that is :Offtopic:

All brands have issues and the reality is that many of the factories use the same subcontractors to build component parts. No one has a clean slate

Suzuki had a similar problem 10 years ago with the TL frames cracking. Least they are onto it :yes:
