WOOOHOOOOO first race meeting of my illustrious career down..
1957 Norton Dominator
499cc of methanol guzzling parallel twin madness !
4 sessions yesterday of practice, this being the second time I've ridden the bike at speed, was pretty slow as was expected, changed a few things on the bike which boosted my faith in it somewhat, now all I have to do is ride it fast..
Riiiight..
Practice session this morning, first lap, Dunlop, like a n00b ran too wide, nearly lost the front, caught it just in time to run off the track and pop my track stack cherry.. No damage to me or the bike, just damaged pride.. Thats twice in one weekend
After that though 3 races in amongst the various 351 - 500cc bikes, didn't come last or crash so I count that as a victory for me, found myself catching a few dudes through the infield only to be owned at the faster sections of the circuit.
I am considering selling my recently acquired vfr for the sake of a rg street stock and a van/ute to haul it, as this racing thing far far far exceeds the amount of fun you can have on the road. While it would be ideal to have both road and track bikes, finances dictate (or rather the lack thereof) its one or the other..
