View Full Version : Ghost KBers?

After separation, my wife kept (keeps) doing her best to make life unpleasant.
Her stalking obsession resulted even in her joining KB to keep an eye on me.
She and another ghost member ("wild") crashed into my blog, which I have subsequently removed......
Not nice being rubbished in public (on KB for one) out of sheer spite for reasons nothing to do with the forum or posts.
My "ex" created this KB persona "out"....(bike: none yet...)
and only joined to annoy me.
No posts, no real members, no interest in bikes or bikers.
Looking through their profiles I noticed quite a few other "ghost" members lurking around....
members that have been on KB for a while without a single post to their credit.....
Anything we can do about that?
Maybe if a member doesn't post for a certain amount of time that their membership automaticly expires or so?
Not sure if anybody else has had problems with something similar?
But the less I see or hear from my ex the better I feel....
I mean .....
That's why I left her....

I believe members that don't post and haven't been active for 6 months are culled...

` like the ones who have posted a handful of times, wade in on a thread and Rep you 'either way' then are never seen or heard from again

Be good to remove those who haven't got a real interest in KB....
I for one found new and very good friends through KB...
Going on bikes, bikerides and rallies with people with only interest in bikes in common was and is great....
It was my way back to normality....
Don't need "ghosts" of the past stirr things up.....

So she's a dyke then....? Good riddance, though you should have got in a hot steamy threesome with her ugly girlfriend first though.

Mrs ex-awayatc if you are reading...
Don't pour your energies into the past. Doesn't matter what he did to you / why he left you / how you felt he wronged you. When it's gone, it's gone. Move on in your life and pour your energies into your future, otherwise you will just end up bitter or miss opportunities because your focus and energy are being wasted.
Hey mate - there's the usual KB friendly banter, then harrassment. Maybe a word or 2 to Spankme might help define some rules around "zombied" members. Put a post in site stuff and see what you get back.

Clearly he needs a protection order, but inept computer newbies need a hand up, not a poke in the eye.

Funnily enough I was just talking to a KBer who joined several years ago but only ever put a handful of posts up. He said "nothing really grabbed my enthusiasm before."
Then this ACC thing happened and he has been a real mover & shaker on the protest organising side of things. He just needed something to inspire him.
I also know of several people (some of them women) who have signed on then found the responses to their posts pretty intimidating and/or offensive so have ended up as lurkers. Interested in what's going on but not willing to put up with some of the rubbish directed at them.
I don't think lurkers should be discouraged because they aren't active. But I think any member who behaves badly should be discouraged from returning. This includes attacks on other members.

About once a year I delete any users that have not visited for over 8 months and have zero posts. No point them holding a member name someone else might want to use.
