Even simpler is just a surcharge on traffic fines. Add a 100% surcharge on traffic fines which is directed to the ACC account and there isn't even a need for the administration costs of seperately charging everyone's licence.

Thats what I have also said... and they would make millions... over a period of time they should be able to lower the actual levy's for cars and bikes as most would be made this way... (i can't find figures anywhere yet to work out how much was earnt via traffic infringments to do any calculations)

and also small $5 levy on the WoF would also generate well over 42m a year

Simply put there are better ways of raising the required funds they are wanting, other than just targeting one small group.

That is better....dont know about the 100% but certainly a percentage of the fine, comes down to, if you want to risk your life then be prepeared to pay for that risk (if indeed you get caught)....a 'risk surcharge' if you will?

Awesome Les, clear, concise, not us v's them, wickedly done big ups!

YellowDog
4th November 2009, 14:53
Les mate, your relaxed style does you and us all credit.

The impartial message from listeners would be that the proposals don't seem to be fair and BRONZ is seeking clarification/correction to a fairer system.

I suspect we are quite lucky that the proposals are as outrageous as they are.

This guy should be our spokesperson. He makes a lot of sense for a Neanderthal.

Does this mean that you now agree with the Police in their assertions that "speed kills"? Speeding is risky etc?

Do we now agree that police have been correct all along focussing on speed?

Historic reading on KB would suggest that this is a big turn around for the average KB'r, including me!

Where should we go to to surrender our Radar detectors then? :dodge: Will there be an amnesty? :weep:

PS: Well done Les!

good on ya Les - couldn't imagine a better spokesperson.. (for a Neanderthal ;) )

That DJ had some super subtle double speak going on.

I've heard those radio NZ jockeys get bitchy with ozzies cause of the way they talk. Very ugly radio. Its like a voicist tory rant or an example of voicism.

Sort of like big bikers sizist attitude to scooters:blink:

Well done Les!! Give that man an alcoholic beverage of his choosing!

Would some one like to approach student radio to be interviewd a little closer to the 17th.

Do you know who we approach there? I sent an email out to National Radio - which I hope is what lead to the interview of Les! I'm happy to send a similar email to student radio as well. :2thumbsup

"We asked a 8yo to calculate 3mill x 77 and..." If that was taken from my letter to Chris Tremain I am honoured. If not then clearly others have clever 8yo's too.

Well spoken Les! Resepect!

I think it may have been. Though I think I used "a five year old could work it out" on the Closeup gig.

I'm trying to organise an 8 year old for the 17th.

I think it may have been. Though I think I used "a five year old could work it out" on the Closeup gig.

I'm trying to organise an 8 year old for the 17th.

I would bring Vinny, it would be a 3 1/2 hour ride, and a 5 am get up... But he would LOVE it! AND he is a biker.

But also unpredictable. Today when we were at my 12 yo's violin concert Vinny grabbed my black suit jacket, put it on, and started walking around the crowd. He would stop at people, open the too big jacket and look them in the face and say: "You wanna to buy a watch?"
