Come on, I know some of you are car freaks. Show us your 4 wheeled pride and joy. V8s, jap inline 4 turbo, flat 4, 390ci, 5.7 hemi, or maybe even a V12.
I'll start. Not exactly "mine" but I drive it all the time.

I have a wee blue one I take to work and back.
MrsB drives the bigger 'family' white one.
The white one is much better - it has a trailer hook.
My trailer is a 6 x 4 Briford, it too is blue.
When we head off camping I leave my wee blue one at home (it keeps my black motorcycle company), and we tow the blue trailer with the white car. Much fun is had by all for the designated holiday period and we return home.
As you can see I pay a lot of ACC ........

Ssangyong Actyon 2 litre common rail turbo diesel.
Korean made Mercedes engine and gearbox with all the extras.
The most comfy vehicle we've ever owned for long trips, carrying mountainbikes or doing a bit of adventure driving (yes, really).
Plus the blood boiler: 1989 MR2 Supercharged G Limited. Totally stock in great nick. Bloody awesome fun to drive but a licence loser.
Neither of these are the actual vehicles but they are the same colours.

Subaru Legacy RS Twin Turbo - gas guzzler and licence loser, but comfy and way up-spec for the price! Climate control, 4wd, ABS, all the extras a 94 could ask for!
And the fun one.... BMW 320i E30 racecar, full rollcage, bucket seats and harnesses etc... currently in the garage awaitng a heart (engine) transplant.

No climate control, no 4wd, no traction control, no hairdryer psssssssst thing, not even a c.d. player but it has got electric windows & headlights + it's bloody loud & obnoxious when ya give it some love.

Mitsubishi Legnum 25 ST-R. 2.5l V6....it's enough but not too much - basically a VR4 without the turbos.
Missus has a Subaru Grand Wagon 2.5 flat 4. Torquey and good on rough stuff.
Used to have a 2003 Falcon but sold it due to loss of company car (resigned from my last job as it made me suicidal) Good thing was I was able to buy 2 cars with the proceeds of selling 1 car.

I knock around in an old '92 Subaru Legacy wagon. The lovely Mrs Headroom has a later Subaru Lancaster 3 litre 6 cyl wagon. Both have towbars & roof-racks and both are eminently practical, although the older wagon is the preferred choice for trips to the dump, collecting motorcycle parts, and other grubby duties. It's a 2 litre turbo, and is lots of fun in spite of its age.
We have a summer toy as well, an E36 BMW M3 convertible. Surprisingly practical 'cos it's a 4-seater.

Saw a few Austens over labour weekend heading out from Feilding, looked bloody mint the lot of them.Had an old A40 as first car when a teenager, had flames and a paint tray upside down on bonnet, looked good at time, thinking back what a piece of shit lol,but man it could travel over paddocks, farm tracks etc, even ended up with a few bullet holes at the end, after we shot the .22 into it,except the front passenger window was wound down, then a mate decided to shoot the passenger door as it was only one without a hole, before I could say stop,he fired needless to say the window wasn't bullet proof.
Currently Falcon XR6.

I have an '89 Pajero diesel - 330,000km.2nd engine,4th cyl head. Can carry 7 people,or whatever the hell I want to put in the back.Tow bikes on a trailer as far off road as I like.Monetary value and condition are immaterial - so long as it does what I need it to,when I want, then it has a purpose in my life. When it fails to meet those conditions it will be gone.
My wife drives a '94 Mercedes C220 - not as luxury spec as her old Diamante, but it sure sucks less fuel.Handles like a German car should.

So mine should be around $190,000 then?
Or, if counting the NZ-version was limited to 280bhp (following Japan version, while the US got it at 320bhp), mine should perhaps be around $217,000?

Best car I ever had was one of these: http://www.nzmoparregistry.com/default.aspx?Page=230
VF Valiant.
Mine was a 4-door that had had the slant six replaced with a 318 V8 - in a way that wouldn't pass the kinds of tests done today. (For a start it was a few inches off centre).
It was a wreck from day one, and I hardly used it. All it did was kill grass. But damn it was nice.
I still dream of a 2-door VF or VG Valiant, one day...

Noice! :niceone:
I don't actually have a car (most of them are SO boring and sucky!), but up until a couple of weeks ago, we had one of those in the gargre. Blardy thing was very tiring to drive - it was always going, "Go faster..FASTER, you pussy!" :Pokey: The 205GTi is like driving a street-legal go kart.
Now, because of #2Son blowing the head gasket in it, I'm sorta bikeless. The bike languishes in the gargre, while I drive him to/from work in the wife's 2001 Peugeot 306 (last of the gooduns). I also have access to #1Son's Fiat Punto - it's a piece of crap, but easy to drive, and fairly comfy. Just wish I'd bought the sports shocks I saw on TardMe shortly after I bought the thing. It's so freakin' boingy and bouncy - I dunno how it gets a WOF.

Maybe its because some people enjoy "crappy used Jap imports". I personally can't see anything wrong with mine, for the price it was itd be impossible to buy something nicer. Or if i could get something less "japanese" itd be old and shit.
Not all Jap is crap, just like not all Euro is good. Comparatively my subaru seems to drive and handle almost as well as my BMW, albeit with a lot more power. And im sure itd be plenty better than say a Volvo!

Wow takes me back to the late 70's early 8o's when I owned the best of British....65' or 67' MK1 cant remember, but loved it!!
I had crushed walnut velvet on the inside roof/door panels and plush carpet throughout. Pioneer stereo with a grafic equalizer/coby exhaust/twin throat webbers...agh agh agh agh!!!!
The Victor was mine also, not such a great pick up car....

They may have tried to invade Poland but the Germans make fantastic cars....

If you want a figure it averages 15L/100km on the dash daily driven, on a trip about 11.6L/100km.
Goes from Papakura to Wellington on a tank (only just) and costs $130 to refill.
That's not bad, my Pulsar averages around 16L/100km when driven sedately. $20=20km when driven moderately hard.

$20 to go 20kays?
I hope it's running a shitload of boost cause that means you're only getting 80 to 100 kays out of a tank of gas.

Oh my. Not sure I should post this pic in here, you all have such "cool" cars. My first car was a 1965 Valliant AP5. If I win lotto I will go out of my way to source one and make it the yummiest car. Straight 6 that took no prisoners. 3 speed forward, one reverse. Went like a scolded cat  Line locked, full throttle the smoke had to be seen to be believed :innocent:
No such thing as going straight around corners :nono: Tail out 4 wheel drifting was the norm :dodge: Spun it out one day, I braked heading into a corner :pinch: I had to you know, some fool had parked a car part way through the corner, I just knew I would hit it with the arse end of my bomb cornering normally :D
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3393/3538009706_0f7a8e5f2d_m.jpg
Went like a rocket, was rust free (had a panelbeater mate that hand beat panels for her) Multi coloured then though, every time he fixed something it got sprayed a different colour. Eventually I painted her all over primer grey, man she was cool!
Sadly dead, written off on the Royal Oak roundabout, by the young fella I sold it to, that did not listen when I said she was uncontrollable around corners.
Obviously not my own car, but one suspiciously like it
PS: stop talking about cars!

Nah that's about right for an SR20DET when driving spiritedly. That's not much power considering you were running 18psi? I've seen 6a13s make better power than that with less or similar boost, unless you mean it's power measured at the treads?

I've known people with a few 13s, 14s and gtir's and they have never been too good when thrashed. Chances are they haven't replaced the O2 sensor, a Nissan part recommended for replacement every 40k [from memory] on most models, they can fuck the consumption. A mate at the moment has an S14 [with a 15 front, yum] and he was getting 400km a tank from normal cruising. I replaced the 02 sensor and on the open road it nearly gets 600k

Yeah, I'd definitly say it's a maintainence issue if they're overboard on the gas consumption. Yep. But 16 liters per 100km isn't too high for a 2.0 turbo if you ask me [when raped] a cm5a lancer gsr is only a 1.8 and they struggle to average 10l/100km in my experience.

My 2.0 Twin Turbo still manages a reasonably respectful 12-14l/100km when its being driven hard, driving responsibly it manages a slightly better 10-11, and down to almost 8 on motorway driving.... bloody thing is near full boost on the 1st turbo at motorway speeds!

My first car was a 1984 Nissan Silvia, S12, SOHC 1.8 l non-intercooled turbo. Someone had mucked around with the turbo and I had to change it shortly after buying it - with the new mill it was an awesome car to drive.
Not my old car, but same colour and model:

Now I've got the most anonymous car on the road, a stock standard white 1998 Subaru Legacy GT-B, manual of course. A bit thirsty, but in all regards a pleasant and practical car for getting around the South Island. She looks a bit rough around the edges, but that's fine with me. Been spending the money on proper maintenance instead of irrelevant cosmetics.

Got it down to a fine art now. Pick up new (second hand:o) engine on the back, drive in the garage, chain block it out of the tray, drive out and turn around, drive back in and pull out knackered motor, roll back and chainblock new (not so knackered) motor and roll forward and drop it in. Correct, it's an EH.
I have an HR ball joint front with boosted Torana discs, so EJ-HR sumps fit perfectly and I have a few spare so I can fit one before transplanting, not during. The plan is to finish some rust patch welding underneath (It has launched more than a few boats ) then matte black her and fit a recon 179 HP and convert back to 3 on the tree full syncro HJ box

Holden were cheapskates back in the day.
:sherlock:
EJ and EH utes and panelvans had EJ tail lights, but the EH ute/van did not have the vent inserts or bonnet of the EJ
Same applied to HD/HR panel vans and utes.
If you see an EH ute that has EH tail lights then someone cut down an EH stationwagon- I did one in the late 80's while I was trying to find a ute.

To Car Enthusiasts in Christchurch
There will be a Ferrari California and an F430 along with several other Italian exotics and classic Ferraris will be displayed at Euromarque for two days only, from tomorrow Friday to Saturday. The display is to celebrate the new setup of Euromarque and to introduce the California to New Zealand.
Pop in and have a look. Unfortunately the California is not the "Rosso Corsa" red but Azzurro Monaco (i.e. Light Blue). However it still looks beautiful.

Subaru Legacy GT Spec B. Has heavier sway bars, Ecutek tune and a few other goodies.
Has an insatiable appetite for motorcyclists apparently but so far I've managed to pull it off in time.

Must have been a real close call
Yeah it's quiet, comfortable, fast and reasonably discreet.
It's a manual with a fly by wire throttle and a hydraulic clutch that gives zero feel through the pedal... which makes it a bit finicky to get off the line. You can stall it, bog it, limp it off the line, get it off the line quickly, REEEEALLY launch it or burn the clutch... experience makes things easier but it's not a city car.

Someone gave me rep, saying he always wanted one, but not now - not sure if that meant because he likes something else now or because I own one!
I had to sit in the passenger seat all day yesterday as I hurt my left hand falling down the stairs on Friday (nice ambo ride to follow!) and can't use it now. One-handed typing is a pain!

A very cool car.
That is the best view though - sadly because of having to house the folding roof and all it's gadgetry, it does have a fat arse! (though Ferrari say it's designed for women, so maybe that's ok....)

lol your not the first with the head light joke.......suprisingly its cheaper then stock on fuel just driving around, the guys at torque performance tuned it in a way that it takes less fuel just cruising around, but it takes a lot when on boost....

I drive the mighty Dihatsu Mira. All 850cc of petrol power producing about 40+ hp. I am looking at upgrading to a brand new VW Golf or Audi A3 hatch in the middle of this year. Either one in white with manual tranny will keep me happily satisfied for some time.

I call it the tank becaues it's big slow and takes a sh!tload of stopping.
I also bought it for next to nothing as a non going concern and fixed it up with some help from my mates and made 3k on the value of it

And a dirty old Jeep Cherokee I picked up for $1200, this things had a right thrashing, never dies, even after 15 mins down Muriwai beach after she boiled all the water out of the cooling system.
