I've got a Yamaha 100cc 2 stroke dirt bike, which is missing the silencer.
It has the header & exhaust, but no silencer.
Will it damage the motor using it like this.
It's not way too loud, it's never used on road.

I think it will perform better with a silencer on it. I doubt it will hurt it.

By header and exhaust do you mean the expansion chamber too?
The expansion chamber is the vital item, a non-silencer system should do fine, as far as I know most of the silencers are straight through anyway.

Yes totally bad.
There's a bunch of little cunts up the hill that ride loud bikes with obviously gutted mufflers. Sound carries for absolute miles. Pisses me off & I'm a total 2 stroke nut dirt biker etc.
This is how we lose land to ride on.
Stop being a prick & buy a cheapo muffler off TM. It won't hurt the power.

It's got the expansion chamber and header, just missing the silencer bit
here's a link to a diagram explaining what I mean....

It's a bit noisy to ride around the garden, but I reckon it's quieter than half the bikes up at Woodhill (which is where it will get used). Sound doesn't carry far through the forest.
I had a look on Trademe but could see anything cheap which would fit. I thought about making one, but if it won't be bad for the motor, I may just leave as is (won't go riding it anywhere it'll piss people off)

If you are taking it to woodhill or any public area, then put a proper muffler on it, or get prepared to be told to eff off.

See picture you posted. No 7 is the muffler unit but contains the stinger section as well. Without it it won't run as well despite what your ears tell you. Just get some pipe about 19mm ID & bend to shape (local muffler place will do it with a piece of bent coathanger for a template & charge you F all). & lead it to an MX muffler off TM.

noise issues aside, it might be running a bit rich and if there's nothing holding the loose end (part 5 on the diagram) the pipe might break off closer to or at the engine.
Go to a wrecker if trademe won't help - there's a good one behind the shops in kumeu (09) 412 5820
