I'll skip, the reason I'll give anyone who asks is I'll either be away with work or about to go away, in reality I heard tales of 3 * 8+ hours days & that's to much for me, 3 TTR enduro's I'd have a crack at, but 3 8hour days, no thanks.
Also 3 days in Maramarua forest, that's going to be tough in terms of variable terrain I would have thought.

Just got this -

ONE and TWO Day options for the M3DE

After listening to the riders, we have decided to provide One and Two Day riding for the M3DE
This will only be possible on the Saturday & Sunday as Friday is reserved for 3 Day riders only.

One and Two Day riders will not be eligible for trophies or medals and will not participate in the Parc Ferme or Work Periods - the will treat it as a one day event and will have separate results.

The cost is only $70 and reflects the lesser organisation, benefits and such.

Because of this late change, we have extended the registration to the 30th November for all riders including the 3 Day competitors. However those registered after the 20th November will not be in the program.

Go to the website and register now. WWW.POWERADVENTURES.CO.NZ and click on the M3DE tab on the left of the home page.

Maramarua Three Day Enduro - 4/5/6 December

The Rules and Regulations are also at the same web address so go there or call greg on 0274454429 or email greg@poweradventures.co.nz

Call 0274454429 if you have any queries. Or go to www.poweradventures.co.nz

Regards

Anyone got a spare rear wheel I can borrow? I will pay for the 3 days!! It's only if I get a puncture...

Vassa, the best thing you can do is buy some tyre levers and practice taking the tyre off at home over the next couple of nights. After the first few its easy.

You don't have to take off the whole tyre and re inflate, jusy do the one side.

Mos well bite the bullet now and do the hard yards as you have the rest of you riding life to go and by the sounds of it you want to do the enduro scene. Changing tyres is part of it.

Its raining the same as up here.
Good on the guys/girls that hang out for the 3 days. You deserve a medal.

Things to piss you off on this race would be,
1) Not having 3 pairs of riding gear and having to crawl into wet crappy gear every morning
2) Working on your bike in the mud and rain after every day doing tyre changes, filters and oils.
3) Timing out on the last test on Sunday after putting up with this shit.
4) Breaking down out the back of myknacker and having to wait for 3 hours for recovery.
5) Coming from Aussie to ride the mud with hard compound tyres.
6) Coming from Gore like 2 riders have to ride the mud with hard compound tyres.

Think I'd pack up and head for the pub.

Rode from 8AM to 2:30PM(roughly).

Race consisted of 8 timetrials where you gotta go flat out for about 10 minutes each time, rest of the riding is a roughly 40KM look that you have to do in a certain amount of time, anymore and you get penalised. Time trials are spaced throughout the day.

The loop is the easy part, it's trying to go flat stick on the time trials over gnarly roots and are as slick as ice. I had a brand new S12, no traction at all : /.

Anyway, gotta leave at 5:30AM tomorrow..

Will update tomorrow night :)

Its horendous how they could let something like that happen.

To be fair to the organisers it was a last minute change due to the farmer not allowing use of his waterlogged paddock They had already radioed for cones shortly beforehand because the test was to be ridden again in the arvo

Roads are two way guys and should always be treated as such, it always makes me cringe at trail rides to see Mum, Dad and the kids riding spread out all over the road and going around corners on the wrong side of the road, just waiting for a pig hunter or other forest user to come around and clean them up. Even on trailrides where the road is clearly being used two way, there is always idiots crossing the centerline risking themselves and others even when its not a race. People need to be responsible for their own actions, we can't put medium barriers up on every road in the forest.

Anyway hope its not too serious.

Anyone got any results? I know Karl Power was leading at the end of yesterday but not heard anything yet about today.

Ive just had the phone call from Pricey- he has been up all night of course. he and Kerry were at Middlemore with Daniel while he had his operation on his leg. Steve tells me that he is in good spirits. he flicked me an email late last night to forward on to you guys....

Sorry I am a bit late getting back to you but just got home from the hospital. Daniel is doing fine, he had an operation this afternoon, he broke the ball on the top of his thigh bone, apparently this is a rare occurrence but was due to the impact force, he had a badly dislocated hip and when he was x-rayed they found the damage. He has also fracture his lower leg so not a good day. The surgeon has pinned the top of his thigh bone and says we will now have to wait several months to determine the extent of the damage, ie if it will heal or deteriorate. We are hoping that he has not sustained any nerve damage and will have to wait a few days to find out.

Bit of a bugger, he was going really well up until this point, 2nd in class and 4th clubman overall.

Not too sure who was really a fault, the other rider said that Daniel was over on his side of the road, Daniel says he wasn’t. It was on a blind corner on a two way section, riders were supposed to be sticking to the left, unfortunately this did not happen and the rest is history.

Not too sure how long Daniel will be in hospital, not too long I think, he is in Middlemore Hospital South Auckland.

On a selfish note- buggered my 3 day also as I was leading vet experts after day one and had 3 good tests on day 2 up until the incident, loving the track and conditions. Oh well, always next time.

Anyway, I had better get some sleep and will give you a call tomorrow.

Cheers

Steve

he was fine, i am pretty sure he finished the event, he said it was a pretty big impact and he was lucky to get away with little damage,

i don't think this is the time or the place to get into a he said they said over the accident, and any knowledge i have is second hand, i jsut wish the young fella a good recovery, i know middlemore is not the nicest place to spend time in,
