Login/password problem

I have just had to go through the "mail me my password" procedure because KB would no longer accept my old password. On the PC where I was logged in always, things were OK but on any other PC where I had to log in the password was not accepted.
I had not changed it and despite multiple attempts (using the correct password and username) I had no success.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Caps or Num lock on perhaps?

Problem solved now by getting the "mail new password" to do its thing, but the mystery is why the old one stopped working. The caps & num lock were checked and that was not the problem. The old password & username were correctly entered and I tried on two computers so a faulty keyboard was not the problem.
One of lifes little mysteries.
