Yup, another stolen bike thread. :angry2::angry2::angry2:

It was parked directly under a streetlight on Orakei Rd in Remuera, I arrived at about 7.30pm tonight to see my partner, walked out at 9.50pm and thought shit, where'd I park??? Stood there looking like a complete tosser not knowing which way was up. :sweatdrop

Bike was in 1st, as it was on a hill, steering lock most likely on as I usually never forget to use it. It is the bike in my profile pic.

I checked the surrounding area, asked the neighbour if they heard a bike start up and all that but with no luck. :bash:

Yea it looks like just another Hyo but if you manage to get a look at the exhaust, look out for a carbon fibre shorty can. And the noise limiter is removed so is quite loud and noticeable.

Please keep an eye out for it, police report has been lodged so if you suspect anything give em a yell :)

P.S I have insurance and all that which I'm gr8full for but it's my primary form of transport so I'm rather gutted/f'd off/etc etc

Sorry I had to report it....

This sort of thing really amazes me - why don't they just go buy their own bike. Sorry for your loss - and the inconvenience it causes you as you said, its your only form of transport. :angry2: Hope you get it back mate

Orakei Rd, that's just a little down from where I live.

Perhaps, post up a plate number?

By the looks of your profile pic, the 2 distinctive features being the RK sticker by the swingarm and a stubby pipe.

I'll keep my eyes peeled.

It's almost worth entrapping some of these arseholes.

Shiny bike on public street at night, armoured bikers waiting in the bushes, just waiting.....

I would watch that reality TV show.

I usually park it in her garage (HEY!!! WATCH THE SMARTARSE COMMENTS) but last night the gate wouldnt open so left it on the road.

Up by Rangitoto Avenue, Remuera Rd end, maybe 400m down Orakei Rd.

Will be lodging a claim today through Swann, lets hope for the best, :sunny:

Yeah, seen some pommy cop programmes where they do that, usually with a car, they try to nick the stereo, but the cops/tv crew are watching from a van not far away. Others are fitted out with cameras, and you see them hotwire it & drive off, but it's been set up with a remote engine cut out. All good fun.

Anyway, sorry your bike is gone. There are lots of greedy lazy assholes who think they deserve to have something nice like someone elses bike.
Hope your insurance comes to the party.

How good is a bike's ignition? Is it like a car where you can jam a screwdriver in it and you're away? I'd use my alarmed Xena Disc Lock more often if it didn't randomly go off all the time :bash:

The In-Laws live off Orakei Rd, cars get broken into fairly regularly along their street. It was worse when they lived in Meadowbank (I guess closer to a certain suburb I won't mention)

Just filled out my claim form and sent it back to Kiwibike Insurance, who are very helpful by the way. Apparently Swann have a 30 day recovery period... didn't realise it was that long but owell, so long as it gets sorted I'll be happy

Sorry but I gotta put it out there.

The thing that really quizzes me is that from all the the bikes you can steal, why steal a Hyosung?

Is it because it's red and shiny?

Coz it's more worthwhile than stealing a CT110 postie bike

Sux man but I for the life of me wonder why folks leave their bikes out on the road? There's a dude who lives down the road from me,leaves his CBR250 out on the road everyday! It's like it's saying "please steal me,I don't like my owner" everytime I pass it!
Mate, bumma that happened,I'd be more wanting it to NOT be recovered myself...it's like someone kidnapped ya woman and had their nasty way with her, you'll never look at her the same.
Anyhow, good luck whatever way it goes.

Yea I usually park it off road, cos id prefer someone not to steal my stuff haha. But yea if I get it back in normal condition, sweet, if not, I'll have to wait ages cos of a 30 day recovery period but then I can go shopping for a new bike, win win.

How far are you off your full, Hiflyer?

Just curious as to whether or not you'd be going for another 250 if you don't get the Hyo back.

I've got my restricted and quite a while to go on it as well, but don't plan on getting anything bigger than a 250 for a while, trying to get my pilots licence and thats taking most of my funds, dont wanna bother waiting for my full to get a bike either.

EDIT: So yea, go for a 250, maybe something a bit quicker, dunno, a Hornet is looking quite the treat at the mo, I'd want a more forward riding position tho, comfier for me

Well... I just stumbled upon this thread and thought you might want to know:

My 1990 BMW K100RS got stolen on Monday the 11th in the same area (St Heliers Fire Station which is now located at Sacred Heart College on West Tamaki Road).

I can completely sympathise, it is my only transport for commuting to work and back (Whangaparaoa to Glendowie). Round trip of 130km

I am in a total bind as I can't afford to replace it. If anyone has any info please contact the police. This totally sucks.

Sorry for the thread hijack but I need people to keep an eye out

The plate number is 94SGF. It is a dark metallic green, almost black. It had panniers on when stolen. It is the 16 valve model with ABS. Some distinctive markings are the dent in the petrol tank, grey gaffer tape on the seat covering some rips, and a poor weld on one of the header pipes that had cracked.

I suspect that it may have been stolen for parts or to order as the laptop in my crew members' car was untouched as were the lockers on the fire truck itself. They obviously knew what they were doing because they knew how to dismantle the steering lock quickly and would have had to have had at least two people to push it into a waiting van/truck/trailer.

Anyway if anyone hears of a K100RS popping up for sale or even of parts for sale please send me and email or PM or contact the police or call St Heliers Fire Station. Whatever duty crew member takes the call will know about it.

Oh and no insurance for me...

Sucks to be you. You should always, always have insurance if your bike is your primary form of transport.

I really hope it shows up for you. I understand what it is like to lose a bike.

That's a real bummer about the fact that you have no insurance. Coulda been the same guys?? Will definatley keep an eye out.

On a side note, saw a red GT250R with a screaming demon shorty exhaust today in the CBD being ridden past me, my hopes shot sky high as I was about to spear tackle the fucker off my bike at the lights, but then I saw the number plate and it wasnt mine :weep:
