Had a fair bit of shift dirt gear over the years just wondering what the road gear is like like the look of the jackets and gloves.

Had my Shift jacket for over a year now... it's brilliant, no problems at all as of yet. Is a summer jacket though. :wari:

I've got a hybrid jacket (wearing it in my profile pic) I adore it!! It has leather in all the vital places and cordura type fabric in all the other spots so is lovely and cool in summer and if I put the lining in or wear a thermal and a jumper underneath is warm enough in winter. It's shower proof but not "water proof" but is extremely comfortable.

I've got a pair of their jeans. There not a good a fit as the Dragin jeans I have but are ideal for the commute to work over my work shorts. They have that baggy, cool look if ya know what I mean.

was looking at getting something like this there pretty well priced as well
http://www.sportspro.co.nz/shop/Closeout+Street/Jackets/SHIFT+M1+LEATHER+JACKET.html
or this
http://www.sportspro.co.nz/shop/Closeout+Street/Jackets/SHIFT+SR-1+LEATHER+JACKET.html
Anyone know any shops in the bay of plenty that have a decent stock of shift road gear?

Got mine from the states at a bargin price, although those a decently priced as well. If you know someone in the states http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/ is a good place to get gear. Only downside is they only sell and ship to people with US credit cards and addresses. Got my vendetta which motomail was selling for $560 for $270ish including shipping within the states and then shipping to NZ.

There are a few members of KB who live in the States, could always get hold of one of them and see if they'd do you a favour, especially if the price is right. Sometimes too, if you send these places an email asking if they can ship it to lil ol' NZ they will, pays to ask sometimes.

Liking the look is all good and relevant, but dont forget the main purpose of a Jacket is to hold up and perform in a crash.
the fundamental questions you should ask or find out about are
1/ Leather grade and thickness
2/ Armour
3/ And very importantly is the type and the number of stitches in the seams
4/ the Fit, correct size etc
When deciding on any gear those are the main questions to ask yourself.
If you can tick the boxes on these then youre sweet.

Thanks thats the main think finding gear I like the look off at a good price but also knowing its going to its job well when I come off.
Might be worth looking into gear from the states with the current dollar I do classic car Restoration and deal with a heap of guys bringing containers over from the states on a regular basis save a heap on shipping.

Shifts makes quality road jacket. I have got the Octane leather one, and can say it's very well made.
One thing you need to be aware is their sizing. I am small framed (174cm ~70 kg) so I usually go for the size small clothing. But for the Octane I had to wear the Medium size. The small is really really small!
other than that it has served me well. So go for it if it fits you right

so try not to test the new jkt, babe.

Give Bret a call. You can probably cruise round to his place and try some on for fit and you can check out the quality for yourself. He's a straight-up guy and probably won't hold it against you if you decide it's not for you :2thumbsup

When you say probably won't hold it against you does that mean he might possibly lose it or unleash the hungry looking rottweilers or what?:calm:
