Newbie looking for bike

Hey everybody, i got my learners a few mothns back and now i've saved up enough money to finally buy a bike. I'd perfer to buy privately because at the dealers in wellington that i've looked at there isn't too much of a selection ion the 250 range and they were pretty expensive too. I've got a budget of around 5-6 grand including gear aswell.

So basically I was just wondering if anyone in wellington knows of any good bike shops in wellington that I could get a decent pre-purchase check done so that I can have peace of mind if i buy privately.

Depends what bike you're getting, for Kawa's use Boyles, Suzi's use wellington motorcycles, can't remember who Motorad are the dealership for though but I think it was Honda...
