I keep getting mail for "Ms XYZ" at my address.

Ms XYZ don't live at my house. Never has. Didn't live in it before I came along either. So I have sent a few back - with the usual "Return to Sender - unknown at this address." on the outside.

But they have kept on coming. I just shredded a few but yesterday another one turned up. So I approached the situation in a different way this time. Here's what I wrote on the outside of the envelope...

Please return to senders. Tell them that Ms XYZ does not live at 8 ABC St and that she never has as far as I can tell. Please ask them to STOP SENDING ME HER FRIGGIN' MAIL!

Thanks

The Grumpy Old Sod at No. 8

You think it might work this time?

Been telling this mob that sends greeting cards to us for 4 years that the old lady they're looking for has been dead for more than 4 years now.

Sick of telling them, so now, everyone I know is getting a free Christmas card courtesy of these retards :D

We still get them here for the former owner, and the one before that, I have taken to opening them and ringing the outfits involved, sure it might be wrong but it gets so frustrating after all these years. One even told me that as I am not the person they can not alter the details they have on file until that person contacts them, ok I said you will understand as this has now taken up my time and resources I will send you a bill for everyone I receive, I shall document it and should you not pay I will pass it to debit collectors, never saw a letter again.

An excellent response, Mr Fox. I hope you wrote it in green or purple crayon, and decorated it with some blood?

I think we've probably lost a lot of mail over the years: we shifted in '94 from Hamilton to Christchurch, then two years later to Tauranga, then two years after that to D'Auckland. Good way of getting rid of the like of the Reader's Digest, but we think we've lost contact with a few old friends too.

We've been in our house about 10 years, and still get occasional mail for the dickheads that used to own it. We used to forward it, then we started keeping the calendars etc. and binning the rest. Now it's just down to a couple of pieces a year. We figure if it wasn't important enough for them to notify whoever of their change of address, then it's not important enough for us to forward.

Open the envelope, take a dump in it and send it back. That'll work!

It's blardy annoying eh! We used to get mail at our old flat all the time - I used to send it back with "GNA" (gone no address) but it made no difference so I just started throwing it out.

I used to bin mail received at my home address not for me. Then I got sick of it and removed the letter box.
Now I don't get any more mail delivered at home. No advertisements. No crap. Nothing. It so so much better.

Postal mail is of little value to me now.

I have a P.O box, and only those who I want to send to me have that.

I'm in the same boat, must have a random dude living under the house or behind the Aloe plants. Keep sending them back but they keep on coming. Funnily enough the surname is the same as a recently decorated SAS hero, hence I want to do the right thing just in case the cuzzy turns up in his balaclava asking about his ezibuy catalogue.:eek5:

OK - I work for NZ Post.

You may be pissed off at all these unwanted letters, but the Postie has to:

1.Delivery them to the address on the envelope.
2.Read your explanations as to why you don't want it.
3.Stamp and mark the reason why.
4.Send it back to the sender

This can take lots of time.

GNA = Gone no address
NK = Not Known

Apart from putting 2 lines through your address, that's all you need to do.

If the idiots at the other end want to waste another 50c to keep sending them, then they must have more money than brains.
