Appreciate your comments please...I have a late model Gen 1 Hayabusa, 20k's ...looking to climb onto a new ZX14 ( '09 Monster Energy , if available :-) )Seems that Kawasaki are fairly 'Low profile' down here south of Wellington . Do the Kawasaki dealers as a rule make trades for other makes And if so, is it a Generic thing ?

Thought I'd ask for your wise advice before I take the next step . And, are Kawasaki having a run-out with their top-line Bikes considering the recession etc ? . Hmmmmmm

I'm Lucky I sold my car and have decided the new Kitchen can wait !

Make sure you test ride the new Hayabusa. The newest ones are a big step up. Awesome bikes. The old man let me ride his. He just upgraded to a yoshi special edition black one from Colemans. Stunner. The ZX14's don't appeal to me as much in the looks department.

I know a few people here will bash me for saying this, but are you really prepared to put up with the ZX14 looks?

Haven't ridden either so I'm gonna stay out of the performance/speed subject. However Hayabusa is a gorgeously looking thing but the ZX14 front looks like an overgrown spider head. :dodge:

Thanks V-Tec and Centaurus, the looks are objective, I don't actually like the looks of either to be honest but they do both have a come Phaark me appeal. I've spent a few hours on my mates Yoshi spec'd and some Gen 2 'Busa and it's a great Bike. Guess I'm looking for a change and the big Zed's less cramped cockpit appeals to me, plus, I like the look of the dirty black ZZR and the Monster Graphics have an appeal too. I could'nt go with a red or lime green thanks, I'll take the bus. ( Or the Busa )

I'm thinking Function before form here ...agree with the Spiders eyes comments but, at least you know what it is when it creeps into your mirror that ...you've got company

I must be the only one who thinks the big 'Z' looks heaps better.

IMO - The Kwaka build quality is leagues ahead.

But you have to decide which one feels like home.

OK - I'd better reserve judgement until I see the new Busa.

I Would'nt say the build quality on a Kwaka is leagues ahead , rather they're on a par and I have'nt had a problem with either . I did have a problem with a Honda I bought new in 2001, a CR500 that was a 4/10 in a quality sense and I'm still waiting for a reply from them, 9 years now and no reply won't buy another overpriced Honda again and Zero customer feedback.

Might give the Kawi Head office a call re the ZZR14 question I originally posted ......

Its generally down to each dealer, whether or not they will take a bike as a trade.

Comes down to their cash flow, how many secondhand bikes they have on the floor etc etc. Often, the common answer is that they will sell on behalf...
