I hope you haven't forgotten the Man Rule (tm) on carpet cleaning:

A man's carpet can only be cleaned when:
(a) The man has a hot date who is possibly to be coming to the house; or
(b) The man is selling the house or has a rental inspection (presuming he likes the house); or
(c) The carpet is crunchy.

And Chem Couriers or something similar - they did a good clean-up on a flood at work a while back.

The Kirby salesman claims to beable to clean anything if you promise to spend $4500 with him.

Cheaper to recarpet the house and also less stressful.

Any one used those Rug doctors. Might go down the DIY road but don't want to stuff up the carpet
