Hey Judderbar,
Lime Green is definitely a striking colour.
Are you going to leave the rear standard or are you modifying it? With the standard NZ sized number plate it means the reflector "arm" is hideously long... see side view pic attached. Maybe it can't be legally shortened?

Fender eliminator from http://www.hamicad.co.uk/ will tidy the rear end. Got one a few months back, costs a bit but fitted perfectly, same one for my bike fits the ZX and Z1000. Good quality part .

Congratulations on your new bike!!!  :niceone: I didn't think there were any GREEN ZX6R's around! That is a very very nice colour! I think that is the best colour out of the blue, red, silver... Did you have to pay more for green?
This is a pic of what was done to the rear.

Yes you need a rearward facing red reflector, and it has to have silly markings such as ADR or something on it!!
All reference to sizes has been removed from any regs I have at hand - they just say they have to comply with a standard, which means they need a standards marking on them, this will mean they comply.Any standard will do...like a circle with say E3 inside which is euro,ADR,JIS,Federal blah blah, hey even NZ standards are ok.Oh,and just to be fussy, the inspector will need to shine a torch at them to make sure thay work - if he doesn't,upset his Christmas by telling him he's done it wrong!
and here is a thread on the topic reflector thread (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=1497)
http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=738
and here is my solution those little reflectors like that one are 10 bucks for 2 at repco and can be stuck anywhere pretty much.

I have already done my first run over the hill. :ride:
Regarding the reflector and the licence plate, am I required to have a white light lighting up the plate as well.
FEINT
23rd April 2005, 23:28
I think you are TECHNICALLY required to have a light and reflector, but most bikes (almost all) don't have those requirements!

Bicycles are supposed to have orange reflectors in their wheels.
Few years ago took my racer for its first ride and kept getting this rhythmic woosh.
Took it back to the shop and said something was wrong. Told me all new bikes were required to have the reflectors. Since my bike was sold, would I like him to take them off?
yep, so he just snapped them off. As long as you sort of meet the requirements...

It seems fine. Just remember its wet out there at the moment so take it easy. And hang off more instead of leaning over more.
And make sure you scrub your tyres in before you go hard in the wet!!!!!!
Good luck........... and oh yeah green is the best colour and would have been my first choice, apart from that bugserum coloured thingimej:msn-wink:

The photo isn't very clear, can't see much. I might go and re-attach a red reflector on the back of the bike. The good thing I guess is, you only need to do a WOF once a year!
