Just as a whole raft of changes in NZ vehicle legislation is taking place. Once the thumb screws are turned all the way down by The Nats, big oil and insurance, we all do a Copenhagen, sell the second car, sell the scooter commuter or 125cc, and start cycling more. Cycling=no revenue

If there were only cycles, the medical bill to ACC would also drastcally reduce.

25km of Wellywood motorways in the wind and rain just doesn't sound like a plan to me.Mind you near the Interchange the traffic is so slow I could still get to lane split.

Seeing as this is a business government who answers to the lobbying of automobile businesses, fuel companies etc etc, I'd say they would come under a shit load of pressure.
Money saved? A lot. The AA quotes vehicle ownership costs really high. Regos, insurance, gas, fees etc etc Most people dont even know how to change their oil.
The true value would be in losing weight and living healthier and longer and the perving would be awesome.http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_4p27T0yYd1Y/R4XB10SF5JI/AAAAAAAAANA/bjVQzTBpbY8/s400/Bicyclegirls.jpg

Yeah man, National is actually working on cycle infrastructure. I'm all for it. From the centre, you can get anywhere in Auckland in about an hour on a bicycle. It's quicker than busses. Only downside is getting sweaty... although that's cause I cannot just cruise.
Not many hotter things than an attractive girl who's willing to go to the effort of riding a bicycle.
