Does anyone in Auckland have one? Preferably from a 600-1000cc bike.
I'd like to get some up close photos and take dimensions of the exhaust.
This is the pipe I'm talking about

That'd be a beaut. I know of one guy who had one on his TRX and it looked f00ken hot.
I'd be interested to know how they stand up against the TL1000 as I know the TL's are known for destroying carbon fibre pipes!
The main thing I'm after is a template for the Hex section and for the carbon end cap.

Posted up a thread there though as the hardcore members are spread out the world over it generally takes a day or 2 before you get much back because of the time difference. Will post any helpful stuff up here.Does Akra have a website, possibly be some measurements etc there, dunno.Re the carbon thing in all my years on the TL site ive never read of em destroying carbon cans though i have heard people speak of it here from time to time,an old wives tale methinks.Got a mate with some Arrows on his SV and never had a problem.

Pass on actual carbon fibre pipes, but my v-twin has blown out enough of the packing in 13 months...

Thanks for that. My TRX has just finished eating it's second set of stainless steel blind rivets and I think it's also shot through the packing too as it seems to be getting louder the more I ride it...
I'm thinking of replace the end pipe hence this thread, if it prices up ok I'll be working through it with a couple of mates who work with carbon fibre everyday so hopefully the end product will be worthy of mounting to the bike!

Yeup... notice its getting loud... think bugger... Ring Custom Chambers to see when they're free and they can do it... They do it, then you fit the pipes again...
I've only got as far as the bugger stage :innocent:

 Y'know, I've had the tank off once... well, because I had to, but it was ok, because I rang the shop to ask them what I had to do to get it off. After they stopped laughing, I gleaned enough information to get there in the end.
I'm happy to admit, I have barely a glimmer of a concept of engines, how they work etc - let the shop sort all that guff. Show me the guts of a PC first thanks.

He just lives up the road, easier to take it round and let him measure what he wants.
I await the PM.

As lovely as the undertail version is, it's got a different shape to the side mounted pipe which is what I'm after.

They are about $300USD - I've already looked. For that much money I'd spend an extra $100USD and just get the Yoshimura TRC-D which I also quite like.
The link you've posted isn't quite the same shape, but thanks for the heads up.
