I was just filling out the form for the next ART day, and I now see a clause down the bottom saying you authorise the AMCC to release confidential information about you to sponsors for marketing purposes. This would primarily be your address and telephone numbers.
I have to say - I don't want marketing people to have my private details. I don't want more marketing crap in my email, letter box, and call centres ringing me trying to flog their crap.
Their isn't even an opt out section.
I would rather pay more for the event than have the marketing barrage.
Hell, if I want to know your details maybe I'll give the club $1 of sponsorship.
Do you think it is a bit underhand making you consent to supply any and all confidential information held about you to sponsors?

Write your own opt out on the form and sign next to it. Not sure if it would work though.

Hi Phillip,
As promised....the answer;
An 'opt out box' will be added to the entry form.
Nothing underhand has been attempted; it is not unusual for a sponsor to include access to a data base as part of the agreement.
Our sponsor Northern Accessories requested access to our data base as part of their package to enable them to offer to ART participants 'directly' motorcycling related 'specials from Northern Accessories. The only information made available is that supplied on the entry form.
If you do not want to be made aware of any motorcycling related special offers offerd by Northern Accessories please tick the opt out box.
Hope that has answered you question Phillip.
