Below and attached are for riders attending the ACC Protest ride to Parliament on Tuesday, 17/11/09. Leaflets of same will be distributed as groups arrive at the start points. There's been plenty of discussion about all this so it should just a formality by now. Be Considerate and Take Care!

Bikoi – ACC Protest Rally
Agenda:
The ride into Parliament starts from:
The Aotea Lagoon on Papakowhai Road, Porirua
Avalon Park on Fairway Drive, Lower Hutt
Marshals will be at these venues from 10:00am to co-ordinate parking and assist riders.
Departure from Papakowhai & Avalon will commence from 11:20am
There will be a Police Escort.
SH1 & SH2 Groups will merge on the Motorway at Ngauranga.
Keep in left lane for the duration of the ride – Exit at Aotea Quay.
Police will direct you into the Stadium to take the Ramp to park on the Stadium Concourse.
Marshals will be there to direct you to parking and the exit for Parliament.
Bring a gold coin for a donation, to the Ambulance Service, as you exit the Stadium.

Ride Briefing:

Please remove your HiViz Vests so Marshals & Ride Leaders are easily identified.
Avalon:
The Traffic lights for entry onto motorway will be green to the Protest Riders for 5 minute intervals.
Ride Leaders will be positioned to pick-up each group from the lights.
Papakowhai:
Riders will be despatched in groups of ≈200
A Leader will be positioned at the front of each group.
(Ride leaders will be wearing Hi Viz Vests)

Max speed is 70kph.
If you find yourself at the front of a group with no leader – Maintain this speed…you may have ‘Learner’ riders behind you.
Don’t overtake and stay in the Left lane.
Take care when merging at Ngauranga & exiting on the Aotea Off Ramp.
Give yourself room in front – if you rear-end someone…it’s your fault!
Where appropriate, ride in a staggered formation.

The media is watching us:
They want to see us come off.
They want to see us do wheelies or something stupid.
Be Considerate!
DON’T do anything stupid – Help us present a United Image!!!
Illegally parked bikes will be towed!
If your bike leaks oil, please bring card or rags to place under the bike whilst at the stadium.

This first protest is a peaceful protest - please support us in this.

Is the stadium charging for parking? Do we need to have $$ available upon arrival?

Nooooo!!! :crybaby: I was up until 1:30 this morning making the last of the protest high-vis vests and now you want them to take them off! :spanking:

The stadium isn't charging, but the Wellington BIKEOI organisers are requesting a gold coin donation as a sign of goodwill towards the stadium for allowing us to park on their walkway.

No worries
Just take them off as we get the groups of bikes organised at Papakowhai & Avalon. You can put them back on again (please) once we're at the stadium. All we want to be able to do is to identify group leaders as we get organised. We won't have much time and we hope there will be 1000s of bikes!

Not quite - the donation of a gold coin will go to Wellington Free Ambulance.

No - a gold coin donation to Wellington Free Ambulance as you walk out of the stadium.

And if your not holding a gold coin on exit, get a coffee and use the change to drop in bucket on way back

WESTPAC Trust are passing the collection to Wellington Fee Ambulance
