I think the forums are going to be eerily quiet in the next couple of days with so many of us in Wellington - especially this forum!

But to those who can't make it to Parliament, for whatever reason, I want to say thank you for your efforts.

Most of us have been caught up in the excitement knowing that we are going to get a first-hand look at the results. But there are plenty of people here who knew from early on that you wouldn't be able to make it to the protest, and yet you put in just as much time and effort as the lucky ones who get to see the finish line!

There is, of course, one very important role that still needs to be done: Post-BIKEOI planning.

The best thing in the world would be to come back here after the protest and find that you folks had started planning the Next Big Thing.

Well, I'm off to catch the big silver bird to Wellington now. See you all when we get back! :D

I am fairly certain that those of us not travelling to Wellington are already quietly scheming :innocent:

And in the words of Les in an interview with Mike Hosking on NewstalkZB just now an added word of warning "we don't want to go through all this again next year". But if we need to we will :2guns:

I hadn't expected to be working so was keen to go along with my husband but then the local reporter left and I found myself filling in until they find a replacement for her (I don't want the job permanently). There is a council meeting I have to cover for two papers in our group this morning and another meeting tonight, so I couldn't exactly sneak off!

But I'll be somewhere near Levin taking photos for the paper this morning and the other half will take photos at Parliament for me, so it will be covered.

Good luck, I hope all goes well and that the desired outcome is eventually achieved.

Great organisation and planning by all involved, so take a bow. :ride:

Fucken love it. I don't think there's a single bike left in Auckland. No homos lane splitting past me on the way to work threatening to knock my mirrors or scratch the paint.

Stay in Welly you jerks :)

Don't mention it.
Apart from writing to MPs and the AA, I've done nothing. :o

Yeah, mine's still in the gargre at Chez Vifferdork. But I can't take it out, unless MutantTroglodyteSpawn#2 gets sick or extra lazy, so I can have a break from chauffering duties.

Awesome sight watching the bikoi going through Paraparaumu in the last half hour....one large bunch set off a number of alarms in the mall carpark and even managed to drown out the noise of a large freight train going thru at the same time...I get the feeling numbers could be bigger than expected
