Im giving the katana rims a quick clean and 'polish' but would like others input on the subject. What have you used to get the job done and protect them from corrosion? I stared off with a 3m abrasive disk and then used steel wool. Have used some turtlewax to hopefully protect them from corrosion but im not sure how well it will work?

corrosion protection is a full time job if you have polished them upto a good standard, using wet and dry paper, then a specialised polishing compound comes in three grades brown, blue and white gradually getting finer. Then crc 56 or wd40 sprayed on gives you some protection, but there's no substitute but keepin the polishing up with autosol or a quality aluminium polish from someone like wurth

Cheers for the response Betti.. Not the response I was hoping for :msn-wink:
I guess I had better keep that tub of polish handy!

Where did you get that front guard for your katana? Is that from a gsxr? A very nice looking bike youve got there!
