Came in from the garden at midday in the hope of getting some TV coverage of the protest ... and I wasn't dissapointed. The report even gave good mention of the arguments put forward with a comment as to how the differential levying according to CC rating could be the thin end of the wedge. Interesting to hear a comment from John Key along the lines of "the proposal is ACC's and not something the government has put forward" ... possibly distancing themselves from the proposal?

Will be watching TV1 news avidly tonight for the full report.

Me too.
I watched the update a few minutes ago (missed the 12:00 one) and it was fairly uninformative.
Wonder what slant TV3 will put on it? No doubt thay'll be scouting around looking for crashes or other titillation and once again ignoring the story behind the event.

I used MySky to watch both. Not surprisingly TV1 had the better coverage. TV3 just pumped out the old statistic of 62M paid out to 12M paid in.

Will be interesting to see how TV3 show it tonight.

From their usual sensationalist approach I dare say. TV1 coverage seems reasonably good as far as mentioning the issues that concern us.

Second in time in as many days the feeling of total proudessnessist has decended on me. What a day for all the bikers that have got off thier arse and attended anyone of the protest so far. Today's event must have been massive and I cant wait till 6pm.

TV ONE footage was brilliant. Well done to all involved. The real highlight for me was to hear that not even one arrest was made, and that this was announced on national television. Might teach the "genral publik" a thing or two about us "dirty, irresponsible bikers" - that we are intelligent individuals who are not desperately trying to kill ourselves and cost the gubbermint money and that when needed we can really band together.

I so wish I could have gone but I couldn't take the time off work as I have very little leave left and my job finishes in less than 2 months time - plus I am broke from just buying a new bike. :crybaby:

Tuned in to TV3 News tonight and as soon as the story started there was me, front of picture behind the newreader (Hillary what's her name). I sort of remember someone pointing a camera at me as we entered the Stadium. Easy to spot, I'm the one with a blue jacket & helmet. The other 4999 Riders were dressed all in black from head to toe to express their individuality.

Awesome event to have been a part of.

What about the camera in the helicopter that buzzed and waved to us from Porirua to the city? That must have been some great footage showing the size and length of the procession.

Yep... I reckon those chopper shots would be amazing to see! Good to see you made it on some footage ... I was scanning very hard for me but it was not my greenie on the way up the ramp :bleh:

yeh, some pretty good shots http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/acc-levy-hike-review-after-major-protest-3152378/video

though none properly show the extent of how many bikes there were, but then, you had to be there to fully appreciate it anyway, it was EPIC!

it was EPIC!

Fuck yes.

Hell, I was impressed by the amount of bikes when we headed into Levin and they stretched out for miles in front of me.

Then at the stop I rode all the way to the end of the bikes to park, The amount of bikes.fuck me.

Then to hit the motorway, People on the bridges, all the riders lined up along the fence at the stadium, Up the ramp and thousands and thousands of bikes and people.
