From the LTNZ - that if a driver/rider loses his/her licence for less than 12 months such as with demerits for 3 motnth or 6 months, a new reapplication fee will need to be paid.

So another new charge but it is not specific to bikers it applies to all licence holders, they did not specify the fee.

when you get the demerits, you dont lose your license, its suspended.

Sounds good to me, a good incentive not to lose ones licence.

Great so i get rewarded in a back handed way for only having one speeding ticket, in 28 years of having a license. I've a better idea, perhaps we should occur points the longer we have a license without obtaining demerit points.
Better still, you get sent flybuys points for good behaviour....stamp on the hand! im such a sucker! :innocent:

It can also be read as "stuff it, I won't bother getting it back if it's gonna cost me".
