I had no warrant (did run outta time to get it sorted)
i very seldom rode under 100k/h while riding down and back home. I did see 7 policecars on the way back home. And EVERY TIME I was either speeding, passing in middle white area, crossing yellow lines or pulling in between cages as the police came against me. Once the cop car flashed it's lights at me. And that was all I got!

Everybody else as lucky?

We were were told by a little birdy wearing some blue that a bike was clocked going through Sanson, or maybe it was Shannon, at 195kmph.... they didn't catch them... I don't think they bothered giving chase. (Said man in blue was giggling a little from out the side of his mouth about it, we laughed openly!)

I observed a remarkable number of police cars on the ride out of Wellington.

Of course, I never speed, speed kills, this I know, for the government tells me so, but the detector said they never even checked .

There was one point I was very pleased tat they have cheescutters down the middle of the road. They are nasty but they do make it impractical for certain people to do U turns.

All gone by the time I turned off onto the Shannon Woodville road.

I passed a rider on a yellow Ducati Monster who had been pulled over on SH1, only an hour or so out of Wellington. Earlier he had passed me (and I wasn't crawling). I hope he still has his licence.

fully agree. considering he only just got his license, he was easily one of the best riders ive seen. kept to his spot in the lane, kept a steady speed and stayed on james' tail almost the whole time. bloody impressed!

Anyone else see the irony in people going on a protest run against high ACC charges and they are speeding, lane splitting etc ...:rofl::rofl::rofl:

You need a sense of humour to get them anyhow, so would be a waste. :bleh:

Yeah I had a learner with me and it was her first trip out of town although she has had her L for about 4 months, the bike is her only transport. I was very impressed with her riding as we kept a steady 90 on our speedo's creeping up to 100. Saw heaps of cop's and were pass by a couple and no trouble. Vern :niceone:

Your L plate is on the back, and I was covering your tail most of the way :msn-wink:

I had not forgotten... I did try going at 70kmph for you but decided that must be a speedlimit set by a bunch of ******'s who could not be bothered ensuring there is proper training before letting learners our on the road. In a 100 zone at 70 even on a big bike, with a bit top box and a hi viz vest and a dayglo flag on the back was one of the more frightning experiences on a bike!

Campaign for learners to have more than 1hr tuition (subsidised by ACC) and passing a tougher test. Then raise the speed limit to 90 like trucks and trailers.

the most dangerous thing i saw all weekend was a "L" plate rider doing 70 on the M/way.... cars were forcing the rider off to one side as they over took, the bike was more than capable of 100+.... i felt sorry for the rider.......

get rid of the stupid speed rule i say

Maybe out of principal, they decided to turn a blind eye. Be nice to think they will overlook rego's :niceone: but as luck would have it - we'd get the wanky cop who wants to make sure he does fill his quota

Man my speedometer must be way off, I'm sure it was saying 140 as i was trying to keep up with you on the way down

On the ride to wellington I seen this little squid on a sewing machine riding like an idiot weaving through the bikes and then he stops in the middle of the road to let cars into the petrol station and holds up about 100 bikers from the main group.

Man I wanted to give him a good clip around the ears :angry2:

No tickets but it was bloody wet, cold and miserable coming home today.

From Waiouru to Tokoroa (up the western side of the lake) it was either drizzling, raining or pissing down. Logging trucks on the Turangi to Tokaroa road were especially challenging. We just followed the last one for about 30k's until the turn-off at Whakamaru (sp?) cos everytime I got close enough to pass I couldn't bloody see for all the spray!

I'm pretty sure the conditions will get wetter and colder as the years pass in the telling - but not by much!

I think our group probably averaged 130 on the way down. Passed heaps of cops too, I think they just couldn't be bothered seeing as we were in such large groups.
