As Les said on another post we need to "re enforce success", another requirement is that we need to do it quickly.
So lets generate some doable ideas. Here's a peaceable one (but have a few less than peaceable ones I'm thinking of.
Early morning say 6AM, somewhere where they have lots of car parks set out in nice rows (Sylvia Park for instance). Lots of bikes, 1 park each. Invite the press. Long wide angle shot, push the "if you force bikes off the road this is what 300 more cars will look like" line, job done.
Little hassle for Joe public (unless we take the bikes somewhere else).
It might be a bit tame but I do believe we need to keep the momentum going, a week is a long time in politics.

I was thinking of the photo opportunity for the Herald who love this sort of thing as they have real trouble finding newsprint stories. Keep it in the public eye.

Yes I think this would work. If those who take their bikes to work, left them at home one day and took a car (even if they have to borrow one!), leaving real early and parked legally it would show the public and the gummint just what a difference bikes and bikers make. Perfectly legal, peaceful and within our rights. All we need is a date!!! :soon:

I like the idea Mom posted, perhaps even co-ordinated nationwide... have an "ACC Sunday", where we all head off on our Sunday rides carrying fliers explaining the situation, park in carparks (with flier displayed) and hand them around at pubs/cafes. Could be quite effective.
The other thing I was thinking could be good was to have a fundraising effort and placing our own in national newspapers. Show the other side of the story kinda thing. All it needs is a common design and for one person (or perhaps one person per region) to collect the donations and decide when and where to place the advertisements. The other advantage of this is it allows us to lay out all our points in a clear and precise manner, unlike the TV news clip format where you get maybe 40 seconds in which to make a point.
...In case you couldn't tell I'm more interested in makign sure the public undterstand the situation fully than I am in making trouble :dodge:

Bikers in cars, protesting ACC levies on bikes? The worlds gone too strange for this old boy.

it also shows bikers are also car drivers so those levies should also be counted... to say that only 12 from bikers was collected is a lie...
the true figure would be uncalculatable with fuel and PAYE

There is a fundraising arm of this movement. It is called the scarey bikers sewing cirlce. We are making the fluro vests/flags/arms bands etc that you are seeing around the place. I am not sure how much we have actually raised so far, but I do know that I collected almost $500 at our rally on Saturday in donations, think we raised a further $300 from sales of goodies.
