The autobiograhy of Aaron Slight

If any one want a good read this is the book to read bought it yesterday evening and is almost finish with it. It gives you a good insight into what it takes to race bikes and how politcs etc is in international racing. This book is not about how good aaron was but more what it took to become the person he is today.

Im not a Aaron slight fan but definitily have a new respect for him.

It came across to me as a list of excuses, and list of people who were blame for the fact he never won the world superbikes.
HE is a very very very good rider but I think you need a little bit of luck to go your way. Aaron never seemed to get the lucky break, but that doesnt mean there is someone or something to blame.

err make that 7 buddy, 4 WSBK, 2 F1, 1 WEC, Fogarty may be an arse but by cripes he sure could ride a motorcycle. Remember when he won his first WSBK race as a privateer on a 888, just awesome.

Yes and then he got on a honda and what happend then?

I confirm Im not a Aaron fan (It was reading Armstong or Slight and I prefer something about bikes) but I have more time for him than Carl Fogarty. Look what happend when Chilli and Carl had a bit of a tussel. Carl was so upset that Ducati had to get rid of Carl

Well, Foggy won 4 races on the Honda that year, how many did Slight win?
He got a deal too good to turn down to move back to Ducati, big money, in his own team etc how could he turn it down? Chilli was an arse over that, claiming that Foggy hit him, the video showed that Foggy never touched him and Chilli fell on his own. I know Foggy makes some bold claims at times but I'm sure he genuinely believes that if had the same stuff as Rossi that in his day Foggy would have been able to beat Rossi, most top riders have this self belief that they are the best, thats what makes them top riders. Just not all of them claim it in the paers on a regular basis like Foggy does :D

Yeap been down the Slight road before . He had alot of talent no doubting that but just could not make it stick long enough to grab a World title .
Where as Carl did love the sound of his own voice but did the damage when the time come .

A friend was at a party with Slight in Kinloch one new years after he quit bikes and some old lady asked him what he did.
"Im unemployed" he said
"Oh thats to bad dear, what did you use to do?"
"I rode motorbikes"
"Oh well, theres never a future in that is there."

Yeah Foggy was a hell of a rider on a Ducati but I have to agree that he is an arse. I got a whole new perspective of him after reading his biography. He repeatedly claimed he was the best rider in WSB or 500's. I seem to recall a race on hondas that included him, Slight and Mick Doohan( fucked if I can remember how to spell his name.) I think Foggy got his arse kicked in that one, by both of them.

im gona join this one :d
carl may be an ars but he did win. however ducatis were 1L and the rc45 was not. Aaron should have jumped boat and told honda to stick it. I may never get over colin edwards taking out slighty in that last race of the season. oh, and doesnt aaron have some kind of record for the most professional race starts ? something like 290 ? or is that just in WSB ?
Barry sheen is my all time hero.
piss drinking rude playboy bastard. and he could ride. Read a report about a year before he died about how they set up a classic race with him on is original bike he won a championship on and his main contender from that year. At 50 they were setting times within 1sec of thier original.
and did I read recntly that a kiwi beat barrys lap record in the classic bikes at phillip island recently ?
