View Full Version : Changing from 6Volt 8W x2 +3W flasher relay to 17W x2 relay.

Hey all,

Is this going to cause a problem? Having difficult finding a correctly rated Flasher Relay.

But my local Suzuki branch has a 6 Volt 2 x 12W flasher relay which the parts man said will be fine if I upgrade the bulbs also. What do you all think?

Will this cause stress on the electrical system?

hmm. Why would you 'uprate the bulbs?'

The whole system will be based on the std load & often no regulator. The question is if the solenoid requires more power to pull it in, if it does it will be a drama. If not it should work fine. Can't tell you which way it will blow though, have to try it.
