Despite the huge turn out (on a Tuesday for goodness sake!), I know many of you couldn't be there and some of you have expressed a desire to see the speeches.

I got a few of them and I'll be posting them up over the course of the day.

It's a slow process, so please bear with me. The quality is the best I could do and I have a much better appreciation of the sort of gear I need if I'm to have a crack at being a fleshy media collection centre. There's the odd glitch where I had to change a memory card mid-flow, or where I fell down the steps or some TV cameraman stood on my hand.

I hope these give you an idea of what it was like to be there - It's hard to be an observer let alone be impartial when something so very dear to the core of my being is being given a publicly humiliating flogging.

Loved the speeches by Rick Barker and Phil Goff. Phil Goff is surprisingly a good speaker with a live auidence.

I have to apologise for not getting Phil's speech - I was talking with a couple of MPs as well as a couple of people I recognised from some post graduate courses I did.

That was Rick Barkers doing, he told me that Foss had made the bikers a promise....bet me a chocolate fish that Craig had not delivered on it (must be a National trait) so I called the pratt out

Tell you what though, give Nick his due, he had a hostile (and if I were the focus of that hostility id be shitting meself) crowd and he stutterred only a little early on.
