Apparently,Craig Foss,MP for Tukituki said he was supporting us at the Bikoi against the party line.
The following is an email thanking him for this support:
Dear Mr Foss
As a motorcyclist I would like to thank you for your support at the Bikoi on the 17th.
It's rare thing,these days,to see an MP with the integrity to go against the party line.
My representative in Parliament seems to be useless.I'm in the Helensville electorate.
I hope you are able to sway some of your fellow MP's to our cause,as I am National voter,but I can assure you I will not support the party again if the ACC motorcycle levies are not reduced to the same as
those for cars and the Corporation is returned to the original Woodhouse structure.
With 250,000 New Zealanders holding motorcycle licences and the proposed $400 levy for cars projected for 2010 / 2011,which we will be doing our best to let the car drivers know about,I do not think
National stands much of a chance at the next election.
I guess Nick Smith and ACC's plans to use bikers as a big diversionary tactic is now being viewed by your colleagues as a major miscalculation.I suppose you live and learn.
