a 08 650, not the new 700. I think the 650 trans is a better looking bike then the 700. Also the 700 has gone alot softer then the 650

V-twins are great allrounders.. (if you can only have one bike..)

SOLD!! the KLR has gone....thank god for that

KLR vs TA650......KLR is a old school bike with a make over, rides & feels like one as well!
The TA is a 100% more refined bike. More power & torque, more comfort,
seems to suffer less wind buffeting.
Easy to see why when I paid $9k for KLR the TA650 was selling at 14K

KLR was an OK bike but after all the probs with oil use & new rings etc & still the doubt about oil use, it was time to move it on.

Now on to my 7th Honda & glad of it

Just had a call from the Honda shop who helped sell my KLR650 when I brought the Transalp.....they wanted info about the new rings that Kawasaki had fitted in the KLR, as the new owner had screwed the motor due to no oil. So even after new rings it was still burning a bucket load of oil.
Thank god I got rid of that lemon!!!

Thats bad news. I doubt if he'll get any joy as Kawa havebeen pretty negligent about the prob. :angry:
He should have checked the oil regardless of any brand tho the Poor bastard. Lucky for you tho. I guess losing money on a trade in has it's benefits in the long run.

If he decides to sell it for parts I need some plastic - at this stage just the front, sides & back parts:shutup:

What? The new owner neglected to check the oil and fucked the motor, and somehow its Kawsakis fault? Like Honda would provide warranty under the same circumstances?

Actually Kawasaki (Lyntech) are being pretty good about the oil issue with my bike - it's out of warranty, but they have agreed to take another look. Something I want to discuss with them is that I'm prepared to buy the 685 piston kit if they want to cover the labour fitting it.

You and me too. I'd like to get some moulds made and produce some replicas - no-one, anywhere, is making aftermarket plastics for the new KLRs . Could be an export market waiting to happen.
