View Full Version : South Island: KB Rally Saturday Lunch Ride (12 Dec)
miSTa
23rd November 2009, 06:26
On the Saturday of the SI KB Rally (12th) I've devised a short wee ride (more details on that later) and organised a special lunch.
Lunch will at the Formerly The Blackball Hilton (http://blackballhilton.co.nz) and will consist of rabbit food and assorted genuine West Coast delicacies.
Lunch will start at 12:30pm with the aim of arriving at the Hilton at 12:00.
As for the cost, unknown at this stage but would imagine less than $20.
Right now I need to know numbers ASAP to ensure I get the right quantities of everything ordered and organised.

I voted, and think I will be there, but being that it is still many days away, there is always the chance I will trip in a bunny hole, and end up with an ankle in traction....

Barriers everywhere now darn it. Toyota has done some brilliant ads over the years. Mates used to give me shit when the guy knocking the dent out of his 40 series landcruiser fender, in toyota ad came on. As I'd done the same to mine 3 times in a row and just knocked it out with a sledge hammer the 3rd time.

Yup ya dead right about the add's and there cars are pretty damn good to.
My celica has been awesome. ONce I had to straighten the chasis a little, tied a strop around the car and tree, and threw it in reverse.... worked great, lucky though it had head rests. You do stop quick when tied to somthing.

In the cases where I know that or where I have been told there will be two then yes. Otherwise it's a complete guess.
What's the bet that someone who who doesn't state their intention to come along will the first one to moan about the organisation of the lunch and the lack of food available.
At least the poll removes some of the guess work for me.

We should be ok for, the pub should have finished the remodelling work by now (there were waiting on some beams a couple of weeks ago). Rain would be a real bugger, still will add to the genuine West Coast theme. :sunny:

Ditto- born in Westport. Spent every Xmas at my G/parents house for years and surfing with mates there after. My Grandad was a self taught engineer and a local bridge builder. Built the first bridge at Ngakawau and many others. Looks like only one for lunch now as the wife not impressed with the forecast.
