Hi

i'm thinking of putting together a site for second hand parts, and maybe bikes, a site that anyone can join and list the poarts they have or need, do you think this is a good idea, i thought it would be as i cant always afford new stuff and can never bloody find any second hand stuff anywhere else I look!!

Feed back / Ideas please :)

i think it's a great idea!
a good search and easy upload of images would be useful.
i'd certainly use it.

Bloody good idea, something like Trademe but specialising in bike parts.

not sure of the market for it though. it would have to be free otherwise people would just use trademe.

That would be kind of like the online trading section of this forum?

Good idea though. !!

yeah its gana be free :)

so i'd arrange it in groups of manufacturer i guess?

Any other suggestions to make it really freindly to use?

i think its a good idea, but there might be trouble getting it off the ground as i asume you dont just have 100's of part laying around. Maybe you can get some of the wreckers to put some adds in??? And maybe you can just run it as a part of KB.... erm "KB-Traders"

did you know if you  people are more likely to agree?

Bear with me here brainstorms are never neat.
i recon it would be best if you have manufacturer than bikes/parts for starters.
Once it gets bigger than trade me than you can start making categories ie sportbikes, maybe separate by cc rating etc
Maybe have a riding-gear section too
erm boots, hemets etc :D

ohh but dont go crazy and make a whole lot of categories at the start or it might look like bid4it, and thats not a very good look.
million categories and 2 items :puke:

So long as its kept up to date. But yeah, we have an on line trading section here, why not use that, or maybe a sub section of that?

well ya it could be just more structured so you know exactly what is on there with just few clicks of the old mouse, without reading all the posts just to find out that whay you want is actualy sold.

ok see what u think of this, some of the stuff is not working yet but most is, you can sign up test accounts and play about, they will all be deleted before it goes live.

Image upload is not working yet!

Any suggestion / feedback welcome

ok see what u think of this, some of the stuff is not working yet but most is, you can sign up test accounts and play about, they will all be deleted before it goes live.Signed up stage one OK, but adding the item details never seemed to work (lmvd error first time, then every time after a Javascript pop-up "Please wait, your data is being submitted" and that's it).

Tried logging in anyway and "Please try again. Wrong details"

Looks good though...

Ok this is pretty much finished... hey its only taken me 8months! lol

Ok so the website is free for people wanting to advertise the sale of or search for mainly second hand motorcycle parts. There are only a few small issues to be resolved, so in short, you can add images to your advert and edit/update your own adverts etc, it also has a private email system so people can get in touch with sellers. I'd like to get people posting parts on it now so I can find what problems there are. SO, if you have any old bits around then please post an advert up and let me know of any suggestion on how to make it easier to use or any features that you think should be on the website.

Many thanks
