Went down to Manfield on Friday for the test day, they opened the entire track up for bikes which was kinda cool.

Anyways coming into a 120kph corner on the back half of the circuit my knee scraped, Wikid! Totally unexpected and i certainly wasnt trying to, as the day wore on and things heated up it was down more often, on a 50kph hairpin, and on a 160kph sweeper.

pretty kewl feeling on a nice long sweeper leaning it over feeling your knee sliding.

I know there has been a few discussions on here about getting your knee down, and if its a big wank factor or not.

I have been trying to following a damn fast rider on a few rides this summer (Sensei509) and on the public roads we frequent never get anywhere close to getting your knee down,

but on the track i found it different, i felt a bit safer and found getting a knee down gave you a good indication of how far over you are.

Anyways it was a good day. If you havent been to an open day at Manfield yet get there!

I went over late in the day to see if anyone was practicing and was suprised at the amount of bikes there.

Some guy on an Aprilia had Brain Bernard giving him some tuition.
And was Hayden Fitzgerald testing his Ozzy racebike?

Was a great day weather wise as well. I've only just found out how easy it is to get time on there so hope theres some more fine Fridays coming up.

Great to hear about your testday :niceone:

BTW How many bikes do you reacon where there?

Yea, Hayden had two big tank slappers, he was pretty shaken up.

I would have thought there were around a dozen race bikes. Me and my dad were the only street bikes there. We must have just missed you Gary, we left between 1-2pm.

Hey mate, you would really like manfield, heaps better than taupo, a few nice long sweepers you can really have fun on and a decent straight.

Only thing is if the test day is the day before the victoria club day theres a few racers there setting up, but that said it a huge track and you dont really see em out on the track. certainly worth the $80.

Supa keen for another good ride with you, hope we can get a couple in before the crap weather sets in! Help raise my riding level some more.

Yes by about an hour or so as it was well after 3pm when I turned up. Will have to get a small group of people that can get a Friday off for one of these days maybe before another VMC round.
