Last night an idiot came thru the roundabout behind me.

I was doing 60 - he was doing "god knows what speed"

He came out of the roundabout too fast and did not have the option to stop before hitting me.

Im in the right hand wheel line of the left most lane - (two lanes going straight thru on the roundabout) - he runs under me at speed (undertakes between me and the kerb) missing my handle bar by a couple of inches at most.

That makes me react defensivley and I go to the right and almost get hit be a car it would appear he was racing.

Now - I know I have two options.

I can follow the guy down the docks and "dance" with him: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=112866

or I can go lay a complaint down at the police.

Im choosing the latter. Why - well Im a grown up and already have several assut charges to my name. Jail is not what is all cracked up to be.

Only problem is that when I got off the bike and wrote down the number plate - I cannot remember if one letter was a "E" or a "T".

Its a old red ford lazer.

Im looking for anyone who can run the two plates and confirm which is the correct one so there is no confusion when Im down at the police station.

Any help is appreciated.

Get their addresses mate, you don't need to be charged with assault if some mates go round for a visit.

Be happy to in fact, you don't even need to ask.

Report it to the police, Who knows who the guy might hit speeding next time.

Sure it is. I know you arnt the brightest kid in the class - but I will explain it to you. I am typing the following slowly so you should be able to keep up.

I wanted to go to the police and be able to say without any hesitation that it was a red ford laser rego number ABC123.

I didnt want to be unsure at all with the details I presented - esp if there was any chance of it assisting the idiot who was driving a potential out.

Simple huh.

Good call Tank. There is nothing a defence lawyer likes better is uncertainty from a witness. Might not come to that but who knows.

If ya have trouble with the plates just park ya self somewhere in the vicinity of the 'incident.' Dick Head may be in the habit of being in the same place, same time etc every day like going home. Who knows.

Good luck.
