In looking for new plastics for my bike, I've found a ZZR250 being sold as is where is with the parts I need. However the bike is going for 800$, and the owner is willing to just sell me parts, but the bits I'm after are probably about 400$ worth.

Because of this I'm considering buying the bike and scrapping it myself, taking the bits I need and trying to sell the rest, which will be things like the motor, wheels, forks, shock, tank, seat, brake disks, etc. I'm happy to do this over a perioud of a few months, but am I likely to get any buyers? I'd love to do this if only to learn more about pulling bikes apart, but does anyone know if I'm likely to be able to sell the bits of the bike I don't need? Or is noone likely to want them?

Just do it. You never know when you may need some more spares. There have been a few spares bikes that i should have purchased but have been too slow.

Doubt the ZZR parts market is all that big but there is no harm in trying! (only to ya wallet :bleh:)

Words of wisdom... I decided a few hours ago to do it, and it's sold :(

So....anyone selling an old and dying ZZR?
