This is one it would be worth going with. If each biker got even one page filled by non bikers they know, we would start having the numbers that they would start taking a little more seriously

Looks like the same one the local labour candidate was passing round at Wyndham as people were leaving the last event at the Munro Rally.
I signed, but was dubious at first as she is as dumb as a sack of hammers * and I don't think she understood the issue. I don't mind shameless electioneering though if it helps the cause...

* seriously, you should see the rambling letters she sends to the local rag...

Okay!!! Here's how we use this. Rick Barker makes a declaratory statement.

Send this statement to every National Back-Bench MP and ask them to explain.

Ask them who is right. Rick Barker or nick Smith?

Ask them if the public will sit down and take this rubbish.

'One of you has to be right! So who is it? Your leaders or Rick Barker?'

Always preface your emails with, 'Do you want to find political oblivion?'

I want to dot copies of the petition about the place, but it needs an explanatory blurb to go with it. I thought this one would do it. Comments?

In October of this year, motorcyclists learned that they were to pay up to 400% increases in their ACC levies on registrations. Obviously this was unwelcome news, and we immediately began protesting, and to investigate the reasoning behind such a huge increase. Very quickly, it was found to be based on grossly distorted statistics and actual lies. Soon after, we found that ACC had many other user groups in their spotlight for big increases. We began warning the country with the “Who’s Next?” campaign. ACC and the minister, Nick Smith, countered this with repetitive falsities in an attempt to discredit and marginalise motorcyclists and their protest. But we won’t be quiet.
Slowly the public is becoming aware of just how much extra is going to be taken in all areas of ACC collections. For most earners, this will be in the nature $400-500 EXTRA every year, just on your wages. Plus, your car registration will jump by about $150, and your annual petrol bill will increase by around $220. And all the while, at the entitlement end, there are to be cuts. We agree with removing payouts to those injured in a criminal act. But that’s it.
You may have heard that ACC is broke? It’s not. After all expenses last year, they posted a profit (surplus) of $1.2 BILLION. Coupled with a record $11 BILLION in reserves. All these increases and entitlement removals are for one reason only – to prepare ACC to be sold to private, offshore insurance companies. Privatising, in other words. Nobody will be better off. Except big business. And the lawyers, due to the inevitable court cases that we currently avoid under the system we’ve had since 1974.
But don’t take our word for it. Do some investigating of your own.
Contact your local MPs. All of them. Ask the direct questions.
Otherwise, to add your voice to the calls for a stop to this nonsense, please sign the petition.

An alternative that may be easier to read...

Easier to read by font and layout, but the grammar isn't...

I think the first one was heaps better

Is there a typo in here?:

"And there will be cuts to entitlements. Only one of these is palatable".

No error. One of the cuts is for payouts on injuries sustained in the course of a criminal act. Most of us accept that is not right to give that Burton prick a $10,000 titanium leg. Let him make his own from a broomstick or something.

Ok in that case you need to provide the context for that statement...but remember it is your opinion and not a fact.

IMO you would be better off sticking to facts

Is better, but as a random public, I still have to read half way through before I find what relates to me

suggest put the "You will pay.." bits at the top.

Yes . that's good. (only suggestion is maybe the words "It's you" after "We now know").

As random public I glance at that skim read it and straight away see stuff that makes me say "Whoa - what's this about". Go with that
