If you want something to challenge you come and ride Day 3 of the MD3E The tracks will be reversed so all nasty uphills will be easy downhills Meal and prizegiving afterwards at the Red Fox

OH
MY
GOD!
Just got home at 9pm. We did the wires track and the gutbuster.
I am taking painkillers and going to bed.
Awesome ride but! Bike hated it.
I rode some things that I didn't know were possible to ride.
Some hideous terrain. but with 4 or 5 people it was sweet.
Good group of guys to ride it with!

that last rut looks deep!

7th December 2009, 10:53
that last rut looks deep!
Its not a rut its a bog hole where the 4x4's chew out. If you look closely the bike is much deeper than the rider. Thats because he's standing in the higher bit in the middle under the diff and the bike is in the deep bit where their wheels spin.
Would have been a real challenging day guys and rewarding. Jeepers that fallen tree crossing looked nasty! We where up there in similar conditions but looks like the track has got a bit worse!
EXC dirt every where you go now will be measured against wires mate good onya!
Bloody pissed I missed it but its real hard on the bike and the body aye!

That was the hardest ride I have ever done for sure.
I don't know if any it was harder than that I'd be keen?
Amazing ride for sure.
Daf was a huge help along the way. That AWD bike is amazing!
I wonder what happens if you take someone in there and they aren't capable of that sort of riding?
I was certainly surprised at what could actually be done on a dirt bike.
(Well, actually quietly shitin my pants!)

....Thats why- even though its only up the road for me, that I only go with Dafyyd- Customers - just cant cope, I get guys telling me " yeah man- I do the Baja500 every year" and "we had a team in the Finke Desert race this year"- they usually want to come home by lunchtime!:buggerd:

Ye thx daf for pulling me out of the river, even tho I was following your advice to go thru the deepest part lol
Nick u did really well there, I couldn't keep up on the downhill, was so toasted. Maybe you could get someone heli dropped in if you couldn't hack it haha, well that loop isn't so long if you walk it I think its about 2.5hrs to do

List of parts to get after the wires/gutbuster loop:
Expansion Pipe
Skid plate
hand guards
hand grips
front + rear brake pads
chain, sprockets
rear tyre
Left boot
more cable ties.
Yeah that's it.
Best $5 ride ever!
The wires part by itself isn't too bad. Just the gutbuster bit was maybe a little over the top.
Not complaining but. Some of it was crazy ass shit!
It will improve your riding.... or make you give up.
Oh yeah Xen, I was just trying to keep up with Daf down that big hill.
Remember you came accross me trapped by my Knee brace against a rock.
And Jt it looked like 90% of your riding was all about hurting the bike. Awesome to watch. No surprise the clutch gave up.
lt made me realise what my bike was made for.
Give me a couple of weeks and I'll be up for more.
If I'm allowed out that is!

im keen to head back in there probly be next year though before I can get out not really interested in the gutbuster w it sounds like hell I prefer to ride my bike rather than push or ghost (xen)

lol dont mind seeing some bins. You should get carver's trials bike then you could reach the ground with both legs haha. Peeps talk about using trials tyres on thumpertalk abit and could see they'd be great for that terrain.

we were riding 99% of it plus all that dishonorable pushbike training would be great for the hard stuff you'd love it
