Me too! love to go back to Wires with the boys this Sunday especially in the pissing rain like last time! LOL!! Took my poor old screwed knees a fortnight to get over it! But it certainly puts all other trails in perspective!!

Sandpit Nice thought! I'll probably end up working on the house! First ride back I might sneek out somewhere alone anyway LOL!!!

mmmm juries still out??

Yeah come on man can do gutbuster this time as well :)

For wires noobs don't leave it too late to try it before it drys out and gets too easy. We took a noob up there last week who hadn't even been doing some expert loops at trail rides and he was sweet as just found it physically hard going. The biggest challenging bits now apart from the rock garden are the deep ruts that only requires a lot more effort in the push/pulling dept.

Verdict just in. Reckless guilty of too much working. Sentence: Take day off. Go riding. Sentences to be served concurrently :)

Saturday is looking like better weather, Showers morning then fine in the arvo. Sunday, showers turning to rain. 'Changeable' sounds like the operative word. Ride on at Mara on Tuesday too, interesting to see how trashed the place looks and if any dead bodies lying around.

(Noobi, I got the whole arse end off my bike, new heim joint, grease swingarm bearings etc etc.)

Cheers, I've just been using metservice but I'll be looking at this one as well now. Pretty colours. Likely Sunday for me and dudes I ride with, I'm scared of the rain though...

Wasn't too bad today. Weather was pretty good to us.

Big puddles in places but generally pretty dry.

Had a reasonable off. Got distracted by some other riders and started to head in the direction I was looking. Ended up coming off and smacking a rib into something. Nothing serious, just a bit tender now. Was probably overdue for an off anyway :P

Weren't many people there.

I had one off on the farm loop. 'Looped' it out, funnily enough. Why do I always land on my head?
Anyway, was very good fun :) Drier than I thought it would be, but still puddles up to [my] knees. Snake bite was my pick of the day, hadn't done that one in a wee while. Prob go to Paparimu next weekend.

Geez didn't see you out there Spiked Punch, darn it! You must have been riding hard! I test rode a KDX200, awesome, really good up the woops! Oh no another bike change! Have heard really great things about the 200, no one has a negative thing to say! Yeah they're a little bit heavy, but what the hell. Very much like a man, there's no perfect man, and there's definitely no perfect bike for a vertically challenged female!

Glad that you're out riding again, have missed you over the past couple of months.

Was nice meeting some KBers today. Kept an eye out for you on the trails redrider but it's a pretty big place!
Noobi and I swapped bikes and had a bit of fun comparing. (BTW Mine is 265mm across the frame above pegs) Judging by following noobi through the convict, Chris Birch training is good stuff. Riding well mate, looked quick and clean!

I tried to get a measure, best i could was 270-280mm between the frame at the pegs and about 220mm across the bottom of the seat area. Whats yours across the bottom of the seat?

Thanks mate, its good to be at a point where im not completely useless...

Hard to measure noobi, roughly 170-ish across seat base where it meets tank. My worn seat cover had lower coefficient of friction.
But your seat measures a little higher on the 'rockwell scale' though (ask the old fella on that one Lol).

Heard a rumour you were there today Reckless?

I guess that makes sense then, its not so much the bike are kato is fatter through the pegs more that its just tapers more severely towards the seat, meaning it was further away from the knee area....
The gg tapers around 50mm between pegs and seat, KTM tapers about 100mm. :apint:

I think that's a good conclusion. Would very quickly get used to differences like these though. Interesting to see we both had different ideas on what we felt were the major differences though. First thing I noticed was how much lighter yours felt in the tight stuff, it really surprised me. Just the ticket for an event like the Redbull City Scramble or Te Puke endurocross I'd say.

After all the rain over the rest of the country it sure didn't seem like it rained much at Woodhill.
