I know this date conflicts with the 300km endurance race but hey thats the date anyhoo.
be at Taupo raceway at 8.30am -practice starts at 10am
Classes are
motards
150/250 supersport (basicly production) four stroke 250 or two stroke 150
Clasics/post classics/pre89
F3 -the premier class of course.
F1/F2 combined
clubmans-(beginners)
Possibly sidecars if we get enough attending.
This should be a really good low key meeting with at least 2 KBers embarking on their racing careers.
You can get day licences but it does add to the cost of entry
Entry is strictly EOD price is $60 but you can enter as many races as ya want to
they have 2 track sessions for non racers to have a go and try the track out.

Yep entry on the day, think its around $50 from memory. Can't remember the classes but they were just the normal ones from memory, smotards, f1, f2, f3, clubmans and pre 89 i think.

this is the email from the organiser
You certainly can race! Just bring your bike, some full leathers 1 or 2 piece (but should be stuck together if 2 piece) a helmet, gloves and boots as well as about $75 to $90.00 if you don't have a competition licence. The price difference is if you need to get a day licence and join our club for a day or year to do so.
You may wish to enter clubmans which you must do as a stand alone class. You will get warm ups and 3 races or you jump straight in and enter F3 and if keen F1/F2 as well which would give you twice as many sessions! You'll be tired as I've done it before!
I won't be there but just turn up about 8.30am and go to the club rooms and register. It's as simple as that. I hope we have a new member! Good luck and most importantly have fun!!

I'll be there.....pity cause have some good friends up from Timaru who'll be at the endurance race. Bugger about that clash of dates.
I was thinking we should organise a F3/125 GP Endurance race......F2/1 riders could team up with a F3 mate. It would probably be more of a reliability competition than a riders one with all the 10-15 year old F3 bikes out there but would be a laugh......I can see it now: Frosty wins teamed up with Motoracer on mella yella following two gear box re-builds and a valve grind during the race. No-one else finished...... :killingme

well there really isn't one -Mella yella blew up 4 laps into practice so I blagged a ride in clubmans on 6chris6's bike A 1986 tzr250 --a fair bit down opn power and cornering clearance on the zxr but heaps of fun.
Not wanting to bend his baby at his first race meeting I was happy with just getting some track time.
Actually Ya know what I ended up having a great 3 way duel with me/Flame and a guy on a SV650 it went on from beginning to end of the race and i had great fun riding at 7/10ths
A real pleasure was seeing the 3 new KB racers there --6chris6 --giving a fair few a real hurry up in pre89 on his TZR250 .Quazi suffering a similar fate to me (ill let him tell his story) and Flame getting to grips with a tricky circuit on her gsxr600
--Never in My life before have i wanted so desperately to blaggg a ride--that is one sweeet bike Flame.
I went out on the last race of the day on Sparky's "spare" KR250
I thought I'd watch 6Chris6 from the best seat in the house -On the track.
The lil ol 16" wheels , worn out shocks, and 15 year old tyres were a wake up call but I was still giving a few people a bit of a hurry up includind sneaking under Chris on the hairpin.
He got me back with a sweeet as move over the top of me on the first right.
Fucken fantastic move mate :ride:
4 laps in and I reaised I carried a shit load more corner speed in the sweeper than most people so I was getting ready to pass chris on the exit to sweeper when the motor seized solid halfway through --not the best place to have a seizure -I hauled the clutch in and wobbled to the side of the track--
I must say once I put my toys back in the cot (from mella yellas blowup) I had a fun day It was great to race with no pressure to preform
And So good to see the new racers doin it :ride: :ride:
Ohh and quazi -next time dude -theres always next time

Well what can I say the raqcing gods were not aware of my attendance ?
After a good drive down from Hammy with my team manager Mlcrises we arrived at 8.30 am, bang on time, we rolled out the bike and got everything in place and I went up to register and get a day licence, I ended up registering in F3 (which was the plan) while filling out the form I turned away for a split second and when went back to bus on the form I noticed extra ticks in F2 and SIDECARS, I turn to see the cheeky bastard frosty with a big smile on his face, BASTARD MAN !!!
Went back to the pits after a nervous toilet moment and got things soughted.
Soon it was time for my first practice in F2, F1 and F2 went out together for this, I went out fairly hard and got into it quickly, I was first out and I was bloody eager. I came around the hairpin accelerated Hard into the right hander and felt a fucking Kwaka on me left hand side, the CUNT damn near hit me he tidied up his line real fast and I got the lead in to the corner, I let him pass me after that cause he was a zx10 and rode like a wanker and I didnt want a incident before the race. I was still in tune with what I was doing and wasnt rattled by this so I kept the pace up and hel my own in the few laps we had to practice. I was feeling good.
Next practice the bike started to loose top end speed and wasnt running right, I went straight into the pits and took the tank off and ripped an piece of tape off that was covering 1/3 of the air intake (we put it there cause I was loosing power down low) this fixed that and Jimmy the Whitetrash went out for his practice in Clubmans (he entered on my bike)
I went out for my next practice and noticed the clutch was slipping,I didnt even get out of the pits ! wheeled it back and we tighten up the pushrod adjustment and out I went, I went out a little soft cause it had just rained but I didnt even last long, on the back straight the bike was clutch slipping from 8000rmp to 14000rpms so it was back into the pitts for another looky.
we played around , well WT did and it was not a happening thing, I could feel my heart sinking !!
Hatden a mechanic from Welly motorcycles ripped of the clutch cover and we saw the problem, ALL the plates were fucked, completely mushed and burnt to hell.
My day was over.
Picked myself up and went out to watch the racing, stopwatch in hand I found the mid field all running at times from 49 sec to 52 sec, so I learnt at least I would be in the midfeild as last time I ran a 50 sec, so I left the circuit knowing this and that put a smile on me dial.
Now to Mr frosty who head fucked me many times and ALWAYS mentioned he would whip my arse I say this, Tony, who passed you out of the sweeper on the first lap ?????? HUH WHO ,, what cant hear ya WHO ?????
(he will have all the reasons in the world for this prolly his bike blew up or some crazy shit like that:yes:
Now Im aiming for my next race next weekend on the 21st !!:Punk:

well guys I had a blast going out on the track for the first time on my "spare" bike at lunch time. Trying to sneek in a preview for the next trackday :msn-wink:
The poor old bike smoked like the Titanic but it was a blast, untill Frosty KILLED it!!(thanks mate) :whocares:
Oh well shit happens ay, at least I had my ride first. I still had a great day watching the other guys, shame about Frosty and Quasi's bikes it would have been good to see them go but at least 6chriss6 had a great time and did some good laptimes, well done mate.
Anyway for those who are interested there are some pics here:

Got some blurry ones of me on the track taken by my daughter but some good ones of KB bikes going through scruteneering and stuff, enjoy. :niceone:
