Interestingly, the pick-ups parked on the site of the road all had air horn contraptions attached to their roofs. That probably means that there's some American fan boy club for these sorts of things.

Oh, I think the stebels do okay ... today I was riding in from Gordontown to Morrinsville ... and I had to use the stebel to melodiously tootle a half asleep cager that was trying to merge into me :angry2:

The resultant swerving and slamming on of anchors must have been because the driver thought a truck was bearing down on him!

But yes, the train horns would be a luvverly addition to ensure cager compliance.

I can't believe he actually got that all to fit. I had a set of those very horns once. They were good and loud but I never got around to fitting them (they were old and recovered from another vehicle). I wonder whatever happened to them?

I've always loved train horns. There are actually quite a few videos on YouTube. I was watching some right before I bought my Stebels. For the musically inclined, train horns are tuned as a minor chord whereas truck horns are tuned to a major chord. That's what gives them that wonder haunting, mournful note. It's like moody blues at 140 dB!

Oh, and apparently the next thing to mount on your vehicle is a ship horn:
