Hi Everyone,
I had fun recently trying out this camera on my bike. It is pocket sized, easy to use, and comes with so many attachment accessories!!
I found that clipping it onto my jacket (by my neck) was a good place to have it.
Here's a video I made (note quality is reduced because I edited it for youtube):
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Qq7wLrG9zBc&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Qq7wLrG9zBc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I am told by our product team that they will be in stock in about a weeks time.
Specs and other details are in the link below.
You can preorder online here for $115 + GST:

Sure, but the file size of the video is huge. I'll have a go at chopping it down to a reasonable file and uploading it somewhere...
(you probably already know the youtube video is at a reduced frame rate, the camera can do 30 fps)

A short HQ video clip is downloadable here (7.5 MB file):
http://www.activecomponents.com/content/movie clip hq.wmv
The maximum speed of the bike shown in this video is 104 km/hr....:shifty: Edit: Oh shit, there's an 80 sign post...
It was a cloudy day too.
Note: I used windoze movie maker 2007 to cut this clip out of my original AVI file.

Comes standard with a 2GB card, which is close to an hour's worth of video.
We are also bringing in some 8GB cards (or you can upgrade the mirco SD card later), but the limit is the battery life which is about 2 hours.
Operation is as easy as turning it on, and pressing record.

Not waterproof, although the factory says that they are working on having the waterproof cover out soon (will be sold seperately).
It comes with a silicon mobile phone type cover, looks like it may be splashproof....but this hasn't been tested. Maybe we need to give one to a worthy dirtbiker who can try it for us...

You can order via our website using secure CC payment.

Depends on how you wish to mount it, and how much effort you want to put in. e.g. you could mechanically mount the "bolt-on" clip to something on your bike, attach to your helmet, clip to the top of your boot... or just clip to your jacket collar like I did.

Mine just arrived!
First impressions- WOW!- what a lot of kit for little money.
all the various fittment bits and pieces are good quality and it has a magnetic mount, a velcro mount , some straps and a sucker amd one with pins for clothing and- and- and!
It is friggin tiny!- smaller than a matchbox.
box and packaging make it look like a good quality product.
Chinglish - instructions are just a fraction hard to interpret on first read. But once you have fondled it a bit - it all makes sense Packed with features- like
well- Ill tell you later after a play-

its got a mic- it also has VOX so you can leave it on tsandby for 20 hours or so and it will record only when someone comes into the room or a noise is heard- it will then record for 2mins or until noise stops. it takes stills too if tat is what you need- and its a webcam for your PC.
It has a little slip on silicone condom to keep rain, tomato sauce and KY jelly off it too!

Is there anyway to attach this to the tank to look over the dash?

Doesn't seem the best quality video but the price is right so can't really complain :niceone:

I don't know if the magnet is that strong...be careful it doesn't scratch your paint!
Yeah, this is not a super HD camera. But the size of this device is very compact (it doubles as a spy camera), and as you say it doesn't cost nearly as much as the other cameras.

Everything is good on a race bike!:msn-wink:
Its got lots of brackets- magnetic, double side tape, velcro, screwed on, elastic straps for armband, cycle helmet, head strap, velcro straps - there are 7 pieces of mounting hardware. (and the widdle wubber waincoat) a lanyard, USB upload/charging cable and a little silk pouch to keep it in.
Its a nice Piece of Kit!- only negitive is my ability to learn about it quickly enough to share with you guys.

Strange, that hasn't happened to me before.
But best bet is to turn it off before you plug in USB, and turn it off before you unplug it.
Also make sure you use the 'Safely remove hardware' feature in Windows before you unplug. You should do that with any USB device (USB sticks, SD cards etc), as it helps to avoid memory corruption.

It's a little bit tricky and weird to set the correct time, and I cannot find a way to disable this RTC function.
You don't need to install the driver, unless you want to use it as a pc webcam. This keep your computer clean.

They also said they should be able to permanently remove the date for us next time we order in stock, the programming change can only be done at the factory.
