Event: National Relay to Raise Awareness to save our ACC
Dates & Times :
Commencing at Cape Reinga and Bluff simultaneously at Dawn on 15th January 2010
Destination: Parliament Buildings, Wellington 18th January
Format: Groups of participants travel from the local start points to Parliament. Participants may undertake any or all stages of the relay.
Local fund-raising activities may be combined with the Relay.
Looking for Regional Co-ordinators to divide both the North and south Islands into logical chunks.
Open to all organisations kiwibiker co-ordinators to liase with identified strong local groups.

The Pollies won't be back from their holidays by then, but if you are serious about this rally I will try to be there. I do think though that Feb would be a better time as the Prats will be back in the Bee-Hive. I prefer that they are there when we give them shit.

:scratch: umm is this a second bikeoi type event or something else ?? did I miss something ? I thought the next event is for feb
I agree its not that far out esp with xmas in the mix & both school hol and annual for workers .. we have a number of staff away and will be really difficult to arrange (if not impossilbe to get time off)

I think its self evident the date was too soon, but the spirit is good
I say late Feb, bring the unions, the universities, the transport industry, the doctors, nurses, teachers, emergency services, bring em all

To get a huge effort going with wider community support, we need to get the ball rolling last week, not even yesterday
Fortunately, to some extent, I have already gotten this ball rolling with 2 unions and a few other affected groups keen to talk about coming on this crusade with us
Get dtes sorted, start the comms flowing....
I can get the speakers permission again, council and police alerted (if not outright support) and off we go again.....
Still a shitload of work tho and we will need WAY more organisers and marshals and sponsors than BIKEOI had
