For those of you who I have had the pleaseure of meeting and/or riding with, you may (or may not have) noticed my absence of late on both the forum & organised rides. This i attribute to a very busy schedule of late and then my decision to sell the mighty VTR. Once I had spent the time getting it back to its gleaming best I was reluctant to ride it as I couldn't be bother cleaning it again (trust me that has been real hard).
After 12 months of road bike riding I have taken some time to think what I am going to do and pondered on many things. My job is such that I need to find things that allow me to chill-out and I find some of my rides don't allow me to do it in the manner I need to - my riding is a different type of chill out - more like a blow out!!!
Anyway, despite all of this and with a sale eminent, I find myself back in the bike magazines looking for a replacement. I have all winter to contemplate this and will be roguetesting many bikes in the coming months and looking for a winter bargain. I think I will go back to the full faring models I think and maybe stick to the thou and it could well be an in-line 4, who knows.
So those of you who may think I got sick of the friendly companionship shared on the rides, I would like to clarify that my time riding with you all has been bloody good fun and I very much look forward to doing it all again real soon. It was a bit of a bugger I missed the rally in the weekend, especially when I was driving back from Wellington on Saturday & saw DSS3 & Banana Man rip by out of Tauramanui!!! But I am pretty sure I will be at the next one.
Anyway, keep in touch & I will be seeing out out there again real soon.

I hate to say it but it may be cruiser time. Either that or get a motard.
Either way have fun shopping and of course lots of obligatory testrides, especially on bikes you don't really want / can't afford.

Have fun searching for a new bike mate. Was good to meet both you and the missus! Look foward to catching you up with you guys next time.
BTW Loosebruce you def fuck I was in a late model holden right up your ass on the motorway on tuesday with my hand stuck on the horn and you still ignored me!
Guess with your riding you are pretty much used to that sort of behaviour from cars around you though, 'cept normally they're hurling abuse at ya too aye?!

For those of you who I have had the pleaseure of meeting and/or riding with, you may (or may not have) noticed my absence of late on both the forum & organised rides.Yeah I wondered what happened to you VTR? I had a break for 6 months and was out of action and when I returned you were missing in action! Doesn't seem that long ago when we were sitting down at the peaceful Kawakawa Bay admiring and chatting about our newish bikes...now you are bikeless and I have an entirely different set of wheels.
...Once I had spent the time getting it back to its gleaming best...Does "getting it back to" mean that you binned it? Or that it just got neglected & dirty in the garage for a lengthy period?
I think I will go back to the full faring models I think and maybe stick to the thou and it could well be an in-line 4, who knows.Sounds like you're on to a winning formula there, but maybe you'll surprise us all and purchase a Buell or some other strange looking monstrosity?

MalGood on ya Mal! I enjoyed the rides we went on too and will be looking for you out there in the future...all the best. :wavey:

Yeah I noticed you were back out there with a new bike Matthew - good on you and all the best with it

No binning mate, just the good old road grime that develops in all the hard to get to places - especially bad on half faring models
Sounds like you're on to a winning formula there, but maybe you'll surprise us all and purchase a Buell or some other strange looking monstrosity? .
Who knows - I have actually considered an XB9R but I am considering lots of things right now. Kwaka 636's are quite cheap now but not sure if I want to go there. I am going to see how wild an R1 ride is, but it may be all too much for me plus I do still have the V-Twin bug but next time it is going to have to be obnoxiuosly LOUD!! So SP2 is right up there also. I am really looking forward to testing these suckers out. Sat on the new CBR600RR the other day - man is that thing light after the VTR......and the seat was hard as rocks......again after the luxury of the VTR Lounge Suite. ahhhh what to do what to do

Mate, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing your TL since you binned it, you mentioned it was going to be turned into a strret fighter - have you done it???? If so, it's obviously a DIRTY Street Fighter huh??!!
Don't know about the Suzuki deal. Considered the K4 thou as it is good buying but not too sure. Jimmy could sway me though if they had one they desperately want out of???...............Thats not yellow!!
