Harawira rides motorbike without a helmet:

The report said Mr Harawira's initial response to the complaint was "pretty much unrepeatable" and he then refused to comment

No shit?

Dear Grim Reaper,

This year you have taken my favourite male actor, Patrick Swayze. You also took my favourite female actor, Farrah Fawcett Major and my favourite entertainer and dancer, Michael Jackson.

I want to be sure you know that Hone Harawera is my favorite politician.

Thanks.

Looks like Hone Harawira is a bit of a motorcyclist. I am proud to share a hobby with such an upstanding individual.

They say two months ago. On March 20th this year you can quite clearly see him riding a bike with no helmet a few minutes into this video http://tvnz.co.nz/close-up/2009-03-20-video-2548961.xhtml

Yep because he's a rebel and seemingly gets away with it... he says and does as he pleases and is regarded as something of a hero in doing so by people as ignorant as he is.

You'll probably find that the entire ACC levy hike was designed just to get that twat off the road.
(faaark everyone else)

You know I'd really like to hate him because he hates me but he's just not worth the effort.

What is really of concern in that story is that anything where the public has access to can be considered a public road.

I mean, a paddock with an unlocked gate?
Tramping tracks?
Racetracks? (last time I checked there were nothing, physically, preventing you from driving straight onto the track)

Is a head injury to Hone Harawira so bad?

I would have to say yes, definitely! Just look at the shit that he says and does!

I wonder how long ago he first fell off a bike and injured his head? :bash:
Or maybe he was dropped as a baby?

Probably just shaken a little bit...

...I know I'm a bit shaken by this:

Fucking hell, next time I get pulled over for speeding I'll argue that he shouldn't give me a ticket since it would be driven by politics... namely the "speed kills" propaganda campaign and the police's policy of cops not being allowed to exercise discretion.
Now, this guy who drove a tractor up to parliament - that was a protest right? Hone's blat is no more politically driven than if I wanted to take some blokes Ferrari for a spin and he let me.

Key's dropping the ball.

I just heard on “The Rock” news John Keys saying he doesn’t believe Hone Harawira should be prosecuted for not wearing a safety helmet as some things are motivated by political reasons rather than safety reasons!.

I think we should be extremely grateful that we have a leader with a working crystal ball, who can determine why a complainant spoke up about a MP who was blatantly in breach of the law laid down by parliament for the safety of motorcyclists. (where's the tongue in cheek smiley)

I hope he extends us the same courtesy and publicly defends us when we are pulled over without registration on our motorbikes…a non safety issue. :ride:

Maybe he is going to vote against the up and coming ACC change.

:drinknsin ...don't you just love our democratically run government.

Bring back the McGillicuddy serious party....
